Chapter 34 She’s With an Unknown Man
After sending her message, Lily received no reply from Samson.
Unsure if he was just busy, she held her phone for a while before setting it aside.
She was well aware that all her actions were just ways to fend off boredom.

Having divorced so suddenly, she was not quite used to being single and felt the urge to do something to feel better. However, what good would making a scene do?
Even if Lily turned the world upside down, the divorce was still final, and the man no longer belonged to her and would not spare her another glance.
With that thought, she found her current behavior utterly pointless.
Draining her glass of water in one go, she stood up.
The singer on the small stage also finished his song and stepped down.
Lily headed toward the exit, and he made his way to the door with a guitar in hand.
They ended up facing each other.
With a smile, he greeted, “Hello.”
She nodded in return. “You sing well, even though I couldn’t understand it.”
The singer laughed. “Alone?”
“Yes, want to go for a walk together?” Lily suggested.
He seemed surprised, probably not used to such straightforwardness from a beautiful girl.
Smiling with his eyes, he agreed. “Sure.”
As they left the small bar, they had not gone far when they saw Samson, who appeared to be heading toward the bar in a bit of a hurry.
He stopped abruptly upon seeing an unfamiliar man with Lily. Despite this, she greeted him calmly. “I thought you weren’t coming.”
Samson replied with slight resignation, “I was worried about you being here alone.”
Without any awkwardness, the singer asked, “Is he your friend?”
Nodding, she turned to Samson and offered, “Want to join us for a walk?”
He hesitated, then declined. “No, you go ahead.”
He gave the singer a once–over and added, somewhat nicely, “Please make sure to get my sister home. safely.”
The singer agreed warmly. “Will do.”
Samson watched them exit the hotel and followed for a bit. Seeing them heading to the beach, he rushed

to Robert’s room.
Robert was surprised to see him again. Without inviting Samson in. he asked, “Is there something else?”
Their business had already been concluded, and it was getting late as Robert was ready to rest
Samson blurted out, “Your ex–wife… She’s out on a date with a man, heading to the beach. I saw it with my
own eyes.”
Robert nodded. “And then?”
Samson was taken aback. “And then? Aren’t you going to check on her?”
Robert scoffed and closed the door without responding.
Standing outside, Samson tried several times to appeal through the door. “Aren’t you worried at all? She’s alone. What if she gets picked on?”
There was silence from within as if Robert had not heard a thing.
Persisting, Samson added, “Don’t you care? Doesn’t it hurt you at all if she’s with someone else?”
There was still no reaction from within.
He opened his mouth to say more but then thought better of it.
Realizing that their relationship was their business and he might be overstepping, he finally explained, “Lily is a bit impulsive and fresh off a divorce. I’m worried she might do something rash to combat: loneliness.”
Again, no answer came from the room.
Samson whispered, “Alright, it’s late. Get some rest.”
Robert had been on the other side of the door all along, expressionless. He waited until he heard no more sounds before heading to the shower. Standing under the showerhead, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the silence.
Suddenly, he turned off the water, quickly grabbed a towel to dry himself, and changed into fresh clothes.
With his phone in hand, Robert left the room.
The whole process took less than ten minutes.
As he walked, he tried calling Lily, but after a long wait, there was no answer. In a rare moment of frustration, Robert cursed, “D*mn it.”
