And Chad saw me. He started to walk towards me, and said in front of everyone, “I’m sorry about yesterday. I’ve already booked a restaurant, I’ll be treating you to a meal today.”
I looked at his apologetic face, and said okay.
At the same time, my classmates seemed to be
shocked.
“So Chad isn’t taking Ashley out for dinner!”
“The most popular guy isn’t trying to chase after Ashley!”
“What, so what she said before…”
I didn’t hear the rest of the words, but I’m sure
Ashley’s expression wasn’t good.

I turned to look at her, and she was fuming with
anger.
“Let’s go. It’s time for lunch, you must be hungry.” Chad said, ignoring the others. He grabbed my hand and pulled me along.
My lips curved up as he grabbed my hand.
We were just about to leave, but Ashley stopped me, “Jen, are you really going to go eat with him? You’re a college graduate!”
“Don’t blame me for not reminding you, but if
you eat with him, everyone will look at you and
think you’re trashy. You don’t want to be known
as the girl that could be taken with a meal!”
She then looked at Chad, “And, don’t blame me
for not reminding you, Chad has done this
before with so many women.”

Chad frowned after hearing her words.
I pushed her arm away and laughed, “If I were you, I would be minding my own business. You refused the scholarship opportunity the other day, and now you can’t even afford a meal.”
In my past life, Chad and tons of guys were treating Ashley very well, so she never had to pay for anything.
But, it was different in this life. There was no
one.
Ashley couldn’t take it anymore.
The expression on her face was twisted. She was so mad, and probably wanted to eat me alive.

After making a fool out of herself.
Ashley couldn’t keep her false persona
anymore.

The people around her started to think
differently of her, and I thought she would stop.
I was wrong, she started to make a move on
Chad.
In the school cafeteria.
Ashley took her meal and walked by Chad, and
ran into him on purpose.
Her food fell onto the floor and covered her.
She started to scream, “My dress is ruined!”

Chad started to apologize, but she grabbed his
hand, “You ruined my dress, so you have to buy me a new one!”
Chad tried to push her away, but she was holding on tightly.
She would get angry if a guy touched her, but she’s not thinking about that right now. She wouldn’t let him go.
To make sure no one misunderstood, Chad
agreed to buy her a new dress. And she finally
let go.
Chad told me everything, and I just laughed it
off.
He promised me that he had nothing to do with
her, and I said, “I know.”
Chad was relieved, “I’m glad that you don’t
suspect me. Otherwise…”
