Chapter 6
>
The cops took Chad and his mom to the police
station.
Because I had to find everything that Chad had
destroyed, I got to the police station half an
hour later.
When I got to the station, Brittany was already
there.
As I walked in, I saw Chad grabbing her by the hair and yelling,
“You were pregnant and went to a bar! You’re never like this. Who told you to do this?!”
Chad knew he had framed me, and was trying
to get out of it.
He was trying to blame me.
I handed the paperwork to the cops.
<
“That security guard broke a lot of things in my
house. Here is the evidence. He also lied online,
and hurt my reputation.”
Brittany heard me and ran over.
She tugged on my arm, trying to get me to say things.
“Amy, tell Chad I’m here for chili, but I went to
the store. He didn’t find me.”
I rolled my eyes. Brittany always lied.
In high school, I kept away from her.
It was too late. We were already in a police
station.
I was about to say something when Karen
slapped Brittany.
She pointed at her nose and yelled,
<
“I wait on you hand and foot, but you go out
and have fun. You’re too happy!”
Brittany held her face in shock. She never
thought her mother–in–law would hit her.
She blamed me for it.
“Amy, it’s all your fault. Why did you have to tell
them?!”
I laughed. How was this my fault?
Brittany started to fall over.
Chad held her up. He stared at Karen.
“Mom, there’s a baby in there. If you kill my
son, I’m gonna be mad!”
Karen shook.
“She was about to cheat on you, but you’re
protecting her.”
Chad laughed.
“I’ll kick her out as soon as she has the kid.
Then I’ll get someone else. If you hurt her, I’ll have to pay.”
Listening to all of this, Brittany froze.
I couldn’t believe what they were saying.
Chad was calling her a tool for making babies.
Brittany bragged about Chad to her friends.
What a load of crap.
One of the cops looked unhappy, and coughed.
They started looking at the papers.
After looking than
Chad and ALINE GE
く
After looking them over, Chad owed over $25
million.
Chad didn’t believe it.
“Those junk items aren’t worth that much. You
must be mistaken.”
The cop looked angry. Chad went back to me.
“Amy, she’s in trouble, and I need you to make
it right again.”
I shook my head. I wouldn’t give them a chance.
Chad got on his knees and pleaded with me.
“Amy, we’ve been friends for a long time. Chad was just worried. You’re rich, so forget it.”
“Please, think about everything, and let us go.”
I looked at Brittany, and her face was wet.
<
I thought about high school. She had used me a
lot.
She never did anything to hurt me, so I didn’t
think much about it.
I never thought of this.
People grow, and get used to things.
I pushed her back.
“Your husband destroyed a lot of stuff. You
don’t know it, but he lied about me in a Live. If I
press charges, you’re gonna have to pay a lot.”
If they wanted me to let them go, they were
dreaming.
