Ashley looked at me. “You broke the camera
to blame Ethan, didn’t you? You’re so evil.”
“That’s outrageous!”
The director slammed the table and glared at
- me. “I can’t believe you’d do that!”
Lalanced at him
く
I glanced at him.
The director favored her, so that’s why Ashley
was so popular.
A select few had access to the footage.
The chief was busy, the vice directors were in
training.
The director was the most likely suspect.
“Why are you in such a rush? There are
witnesses, what about the driver and nurse?”
“Fine, let’s hear it!”
Ethan looked excited.
Their stories were the same.
r
They said I did the chest tap.
They even said Ashley and Ethan didn’t go
near Jennifer, only me.
I glared at them.
They were nervous.
I wanted to laugh.
They were all lying, they tried so hard.
Fine…
They could all suffer for it!

Chapter 2
“So, what do you have to say for yourself
now?”
Ashley snapped, “I can’t believe you’re like
this after three years!”
Everyone else, including my intern, Sarah,
stared at me, bewildered.
This was what I felt last time, everyone
against me.
“Call the cops!”
The director roared, “Get the police and the
Moon family over here. We found the culprit.
This doctor doesn’t deserve to be here. He’s
going to pay!”
Г
Pushing me out was the only way they could
save themselves!
But, I remained calm.
Let them make a scene. The bigger, the
better.
“Oh, no!”
A nurse rushed in, “Jennifer Moon is having
heart failure! She was hurt in the crash, and
the chest tap caused too much bleeding.
She’s anemic and going into cardiac arrest!”
“Quick, save her!”
The chief jumped up, “Ashley, come on!”
<
Ashley glared at me before leaving.
“Leo, I’m disappointed in you.”
She was disappointed?
I wanted to kick her.
The face I used to love now made me sick.
Everyone else stopped blaming me.
If Jennifer died, her fans would tear the
hospital apart!
The director led everyone to the ICU.
Ashley looked grim. “We need more blood
plasma, but we don’t have time!”
Г
“Anemia and heart failure, this…”
“We’re doomed!” The chief was pale. “Call
the family. Tell them we tried, but it was too
late when we found the pneumothorax!”
“It’s all your fault!” Ethan yelled at me.
“You messed up and didn’t say anything! You
killed her!”
The director glared at me. “Leo, wait for the
police. You don’t deserve to be a doctor, you
quack!”
Everyone else looked at me like I was at
monster.
The Moon family’s lawyer walked in.
L
Jennifer. Get ready for a lawsuit!”
Then, I heard a frantic voice.
“Make way, the blood plasma’s here!”
“Hurry, we need to save her!”
It was my colleague, Lisa.
She looked confused at the crowd in the
room.
“What are you doing here? This is the ICU!”
“Get out! Jennifer needs blood plasma, she’s
anemic!”
Everyone walked out, stunned.
Ethan was dumbfounded.
He stared at Ashley. “Did you order the blood
plasma?”
“No,” Ashley said, blankly.
“I didn’t ask the blood bank, how did it get
here so fast?”
She frowned. “Anyway, the patient can get
through the worst of it with the blood plasma,
but-”
Ashley pointed at me.
“You caused this. You’re still not a real
doctor!”
Г
I saw the blood plasma go in, and felt
relieved.
Now, I didn’t have to worry.
And all the people who betrayed me were
here!
“Don’t be so hasty,” I said, smiling. “The
camera in the ambulance might be broken,
but my phone’s camera isn’t.”
“I wanted to record our new intern doing his
first chest tap.”
“But it just so happened I got some key
evidence.”
I pulled up the video and gave it to the Moon
The lawyer’s face turned white.
Everyone else was speechless.
The video showed Ashley and Ethan making
goo–goo eyes at each other while doing the
chest tap.
Ashley held Ethan’s hand as they adjusted the
needle.
You wouldn’t know they were saving
someone’s life!
Ethan told a joke to make Ashley laugh.
Ashley giggled, and didn’t pay attention to the
patient.
You could clearly see them stick the needle in
When they pulled it out, blood sprayed on
Ethan’s face.
He screamed and jumped back.
Ashley comforted him, and the nurse gave
him a cloth.
The three of them forgot to stitch up
Jennifer, and air got in.
I calmly looked at Ashley and Ethan.
