Before college, Mom changed.
I was leaving, and she grabbed the bag, “Can
I take you?”
“All the students go to college with their
parents, so…”
“No.”
“I did it alone.”
I pulled her hand off.
I dragged the bag.
The feeling was amazing.
Jessica and I met at the train station.
We got on the train.
The whistle blew.
We looked out the window.
Then we smiled at each other.
