Chapter 106
Mason
“Did last night feel different to anyone else?” Niko asks, his voice tinged with concern as he lazily stirs protein shakes for himself and King
I’m at the table with Zuri, who’s giggling as I help her cut up her eggs. Eggs and sausage seemed like an easy meal, considering we’ll likely morning.

out all
I still blows my mind that I told King about what happened–about how I thought I was going through some type of bi–awakening or something. Or maybe he’s right. Maybe I was just hornier than I thought and seeing him and Niko fuck just set me off. But does that really explain why my cock twitched watching Niko lick my cum off Alyssa’s hand?
Damn, I planned to take it to my grave, but it felt good to talk to King about it. I didn’t feel like such a freak after, and maybe one day, when I’m a lot fucking braver, I’ll take him on his offer of exploring whatever the hell that was
“Different how?” I ask Niko, biting into a piece of sausage. Zuri mirrors me, grinning, and I can’t help but smile back.
Niko hesitates, his brows furrowing in confusion. “I mean with Alyssa. It felt like she was…
“Saying goodbye?” King’s voice cons through the room like a blade. He steps down the stairs, his presence filling the room before he even speaks again. “Yeah, that’s because she thought she was going to be handing herself over to Isaac today.”
His words hit like a punch in the gut. Gray had said as much last night, but it didn’t register until now–last night wasn’t just sex. It was Alyssa trying to leave pieces of herself with each of us, memorizing our bodies like she’d never touch them again. But why the hell didn’t she say something? How could she believe we’d let her go like that?
“Damn it, I wish we could’ve found him before today.” I say between clenched teeth, stabbing at another piece of sausage with more force than necessary. “He should’ve been dead a long time ago, before he could be close enough to hurt her again”
“He obviously still has connections, Niko growls, walking over to hand King his shake before taking a long drink of his own.
King’s expression hardens. “Alyssa stays w
with me. Zum will stay with you and Mason. We don’t take our eyes off them, not for a damn second. Go
We both nod, but Niko frowns. “But do we really think base would be dumb enough to pull something today? It seems too obvious
I hum, my mind already turning. War warned us for a reason. Makes me believe Bones knows something we don’t.”
“Yeah, I don’t trust any of those Serpents,” King grunts, his tone venomous. “Gray needs to dig into
o that shit
Before we can dwell further, the sound of Alyssa’s footsteps echo from upstairs. We all fall silent, aside from Zuri, who is banging her fork on her plate like it’s a drum.
Alyssa steps into view, stopping at the foot of the stairs. Her biker gear hugs her curves, her hair falls effortlessly down her back, and bright red lipstick frames her soft lips. My cock twitches, but I force any and all dirty thoughts away. That hardly seems appropriate right now,
She blushes under our gazes, a pink hue blooming across her cheeks. “Hey, guys. Sorry for sleeping in so late, I know we need to leave soon! Niko flashes her his signature grin, pashing a freshly–made smoothie into her hand. “That’s okay, sweet girl. We did wear you out.”
She eyes him suspiciously, already knowing he slipped prenatals in it. “If I get sick, I’m puking on you, she warns him
He leans in and kisses her. “Looking forward to it, baby,” he teases.
She makes her way to me next, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to my lips. I savor the moment, but it’s over too soon. Then, she moves to King who pulls her in close, devouring her mouth in such a filthy way, I have to look away before I get an erection at the breakfast table.
Okay. What the hell is wrong with me? I just had sex last night, how am I horny again? I feel like I’m starting to acquire King and Niko’s sex drive. “Mmm, my kitten looks so sexy this morning” King purrs, nipping at her bottom lip.
She smiles lightly, brushing a hand over his chest. “So do you. All of you do. Seriously, it was like you were ripped straight out of a magazine. Niko snickers in response. “Not to brag, but we are a sexy–looking group, huh?”
Zuri interrupts with a loud, “Mama” as she bangs her fork on her plate again. Alyssa immediately moves to her, scooping her out of the high chair. “Good morning, princess. Let’s go get you dressed. Her voice is soft but strained. The forced brightness in her smile twists something in my gut,

creating a familiar ache I hate. It reminds me of her mom–of those fake, brittle smiles she gave us during our visits, knowing her time was running
கம.
No. I’m not just going to let my linle warrior give up. I don’t know what she’s planning, but if she thinks she’s just going to hand herself over to Isaac for our sake, that’s not fucking happening
I refuse to lose her.
As she carries Zuri upstairs, the three of us exchange a look.
“She’s good at pretending she’s okay,” I say quietly, wiping my glasses clean with the hem of my shirt
King’s scowl deepens. “Nor when you’ve been inside her fucking soul.”
That’s true. It seem
seems like we can all read her like a book now, which is good in the instances when she’s about to do something dangerous like willingly fall into the hands of her abusive husband.
The thought of him anywhere near her fills my veins with fire. He’s taken enough from her–he’s not taking anything else. Not if we can help it. –
Suddenly, there’s a double–knock at the door. Phoenix steps in, his face tense. “King. War’s here. Says he needs to talk.”
King’s jaw tightens, and he grabs his gun. “When the hell did we start giving these fuckers permission to show up unannounced? Fine. Send him in“
“King, don’t do anything irrational, I wam.
He drags his gaze towards me, deadpan “Yeah, no promises”
The air shifts before the door even opens. It’s subtle, a prickling at the back of my neck like static before lightning. Then, War strides in with an unhurried swagger, whistling some eerie tune I don’t recognize. His sharp eyes scan the space as if memorizing every detail a predator staking out new territory. “Not bad, King,” he drawls, his tone mocking “Could use better furniture, though.”
“What the hell do you want?” King snaps.
War smirks. “Logan wants to keep an eye on her. Doesn’t trust you to get the job done,” he says casually, throwing his hands up in mock surrender. “So, here we are
King shoots up from his chair, his fists clenching like he’s ready to pummel Wars face in “We don’t need fucking backup. We can protect her on our
own,” he snarls
Nike moves before King can bunge, placing a steady hand on his shoulder. His voice is careful as he says. “We don’t necessarily need him, but it wouldn’t hurt to have an extra pair of eyes, right?”
Reluctantly, I nod. War might be a jackass, but he did warn us last night. And now he’s here, volunteering to help us protect Alyssa and Zuri. Maybe, just maybe, we can throw him a little trust. At least for now. Besides, we still don’t know what haar’s up to. We need all the extra eyes we can get.
War, completely unfazed, meets King’s glare evenly. “I don’t doubt that you can protect her.” he says, his voice smooth as glass. “But it will keep Logan from being a nagging asshole. And believe me.. you’d rather deal with me than him right now.”
King’s jaw works furiously, the scar over his eyes twitching as he lights to keep his temper in check. After a tense beat, he drops back into his chair with a heavy thud, his glare never leaving War. “Fucking fine, he grits out. “But the second Logan makes an appearance. I’m knocking his ass out.”
War chuckles. “Yeah, he’d probably deserve that. Just don’t hit him too hard. I’ll feel that shit later too.”
The tension in the room is thick enough to chake on, but it shatters as Alyssa comes down the stairs, holding Zuri. The little one’s decased in a panda pramsuit, her giggles cutting through the heavy atmosphere like sunlight breaking a storm.
Alyssa’s face lights up when she spots War. “Logan=”
“Nah, linle psycho” War interrupts, smirking at her. “It’s me.”
Her expression falls instantly, and I have to hold back a laugh as she scowls at him. “Ugh. What are you doing here? You’re the last person I want to ser right now.”
Leaning casually against the couch, Whr’s grin only widens, “Just being a good alter of your pal and helping out.”
She huffs, clearly unimpressed, before handing Zuri to Niko, who takes her without a word. Zuri clings to him like a baby koala, her wide eyes curious as she tracks War.
“Who asked
you to do this! Gray?” Alyssa snaps, her hands on her hips.

War pops the “p” on his “Nope,” dragging–out the word for maximum annoyance. “Just Logan”
Her brows scrunch together. “Why can’t he do this himself, then?”
War shrugs lazily. “Let’s just say I take over when he’s about to do something stupid. What he had in mind for this morning? Borderline psychotic. I compromised. This isn’t gonna get us both killed”
His words should be reassuring, but they only feel like another alarm bell ringing in my does that say about Logan!
head If War’s stepping in as the rational one, what the hell
“You look nice,” War drawls suddenly, his gaze sweeping over Alyssa in a way
that’s more of a bunt
nt than a compliment.
She rolls ser eyes, irritation flashing across her face. “Thanks” she mutters, her tone thick with sarcasm.
King growls. “Keep tauming my woman, and see what happens.”
War’s laugh is a low, unbothered bark as he glances toward King. I see why you call her ‘kitten‘ She’s got claws. Her hostility’s got me rattling in my
boots.”
Alyssa flips hirn off with a glare before grabbing King’s hand firmly. “Let’s get going. I told Chelsea and Ashley we’d meet them there.”
King’s expression softens instantly, his thumb brushing over her knuckles. “Okay, baby,” he murmurs. But as they pass War, King stops abruptly. grabbing Alyssa by the hips and pulling her into a deep kiss, one that’s as much as a declaration as it is a warning.
She belongs to us.
War watches with his infuriating smirk still in place. “Ooh, territorial. I like the drawls, clearly enjoying himself.
King pulls back, glaring daggers at him. “Yeah, I can see myself killing you by the end of the day”
War’s laughter follows us as we all bead for the door. “Hell of a day ahead, boy’s Hope our target shows his pretty face.”
I sure as hell hope he does too.
We’ve been circling around Isaac for months like a shiver of sharks. Today, it ends. No more running. No more fear. Alyssa deserves her freedom- and I make dame sure she gris it.
