Chapter 16 The Final Moments
Jemima curled up on the sofa after finishing her meal.
She opened her chat with Louis, typing and deleting multiple times before giving up.

What on earth is Scott trying to do? He gave me his measurements but decided he didn’t want the suit anymore? Is he messing with me?
She couldn’t figure out what was going on in that bigshot’s mind, nor did she want to. Other than this unfinished suit, their lives were unlikely to ever intersect again.
Footsteps sounded from outside the living room.
Jemima quickly closed the chat screen and put her legs down.
“Where did all your clothes, shoes, bags, and jewelry go?” Julius asked the moment he walked in
Jemima’s heart skipped a beat.
He noticed? Wait, what’s wrong with this b*stard today? He suddenly came home for dinner without warning, and now he’s checking the dressing room!
“I sent my clothes and shoes for dry cleaning, and my bags and jewelry for maintenance,” she said, keeping her expression calm and natural despite the turmoil inside.
“All of them
“Yeah. Is that a problem? I was bored, so I cleaned up the house a little. I mixed up the worn and unworn clothes in the closet, so i figured I might as well send everything to be cleaned. Same with the bags and jewelry. After a while, the diamonds lose their shine, and the leather edges of the bags start to wear out. Since I had the time, I sent them off for some maintenance”
Her explanation was logical, and there was no real reason for her to lie.
Julius found it odd, but after hearing her explanation, he chose to believe it.
She had indeed been home these past few days with nothing to do. Thinking back, every time he came home, she was always running around tidying up.
“There’s no need to rush. You’re not only home for these few days. Take your time.”
“But I am leaving soon. I’m going on a trip in a few days, and I want to clean everything before I go.”
There was nothing wrong with her words, but Julius still felt uncomfortable hearing them.
His eyes landed on a dark blue bag on the sofa. He bent down to pick it up. “Is this for me”
“It’s not
Jemima instinctively stopped him, leaning over to block his hand.
Both of them froze mid–action.
Julius‘ face instantly turned cold.
Jemima quickly recovered and added, “It’s for my dad.”
The disappointment in Julius‘ eyes was palpable. “You got one for your dad, but you didn’t think to buy one for your husband?”
Jemima countered, “Are you lacking suits?”
Ha. The suits left in Nadine’s bedroom are probably more than what he had at home.
Julius was momentarily speechless.
Chapter 16 The Final Moments
She locked herself in her study. A few moments later, she heard the sound of a car driving away.
She let out a sigh of relief
The following day was Sunday. The weather was just perfect.
Jemima went to the high school where she and Julius had once studied.
There were no classes today, but she still saw a few students in uniform walking along the paths.

She wandered leisurely, revisiting the past–the classroom they sat in together, the tree–lined paths they walked, the track they ran across.
Finally, she arrived at the bamboo grove by the artificial lake and dug up the box they had buried together in a hidden
It was the night before their university entrance exam. Julius had dragged her here after studying late. The area was pitch stark and they had used their phones for light, writing on paper propped against their knees.
He had said that they would dig it up together in twenty years.
In the dim glow his eyes had shone brighter than the stars.
Jemima smiled faintly and took out her own time capsule from the box.
Goodbye, Jultat
At the same time. Julius was in the project department manager’s office.
The blinds were drawn, and the door was closed.
The project department members outside were all quietly cursing
Julius frowned as he flipped through the project proposal Nadine had put together.
Nadine didn’t seem to care about his mood. She leaned against him, her hands constantly stoking his desire.
She wasn’t as beautiful as Jemima, but she was wild, daring, and uninhibited. Not only did she openly pursue him, but she was also bold in her seduction, relentless in her approach. Few men could resist someone like her
For men, the heart and the body could be completely separate.
“Julius, don’t you want to do it here… Her hand moved lower.
“Knock it off
Julius wasn’t in the mood. He shoved her hand away and slammed the project proposal onto the desk. “This is the proposal you said took you seven or eight all–nighters to finish?
He knew she wasn’t as capable as Jemima, but he hadn’t expected her to be this incompetent.
It was utter nonsense!
Frustrated. Julius rubbed his temples. He couldn’t help but miss the days when Jemima was department. With her there, he had been unstoppable.
Nadine pouted in protest.

Just then, Julius‘ phone rang. He glanced at the screen, got up, and walked to the window to answer. “Talk.”
“Ms. Willis went out again today. She went to a high school and wandered around for a while. After that, she went to a residential area called Meadow Estates. It’s an expensive neighborhood with strict security. Non–residents can’t get in
The person monitoring Jemima reported dutifully.

“Understood”
Julius hung up itation growing inside him. On one side, his lover had made a complete mess of the project proposal. On the other side. his wife was acting strangely
He turned around. Nadine had come up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist. “Why do you care about her! You don’t love her anymore.”
Suppressing his disgust, Julius peeled her of him and gripped her shoulders tightly. His expression was stern. “Redo the proposal properly. If you don’t understand, ask the team leaders in the project department
With that, he left with a cold face.
In a fit of rage. Nadine smashed everything in her office.

Furious, she grabbed the phone and summoned the three team leaders. The moment they walked in she tore into them mercilessly, When the leader of team one. Sophie Gaskill tried to defend herself she was slapped across the face
The remaining two team leaders were fuming but didn’t dare to speak
This wasn’t a rich heiress–this was a rabid dop
Jemima placed the time capsule on a shelf in her new home.
There was no need to throw it away or burn it.
That box didn’t just contain memories of Julius. It contained parts of her own life, 100.
Her phone rang She was surprised to see that it was Julius

After a while, the ringing stopped, and a message came through
She rolled her eyes and opened it. It wasn’t from Julius–it was from Lou
