Chapter 37 The Lucky One
Of course, she knew that this was merely his excuse.

With a bottle of water in hand, she sipped as she made her way toward the staircase leading to the third floor. Her head was throbbing, so she thought some fresh air might help.
Stepping onto the third deck, she had barely reached the vicinity of the round couch when she turned her head, completely. unprepared for the sight that met her eyes. Two people appeared to be kissing–Scott had his back to her, while Naomi was on her tiptoes, her arms looped around his neck….
Good heavenst
Jemima was so startled that she choked on her drink.
She quickly suppressed the urge to cough.
Covering her mouth, she turned and ran.
Just as Scott was about to push Naomi away, he heard the muffled sound of footsteps running
behind him.
The floor was carpeted, ensuring silent footsteps as one walked. Yet, no matter how thick the carpet was, there would always be a sound when one started to run.
He turned his head to look, but there was no one there anymore.
“Scott”
Naomi, slightly tipsy, cradled his face in her hands.
Scott’s expression was icy as he pulled her hand and tossed her onto the couch. “Naomi, if you continue to act recklessly, I’ll throw you into the sea.”
He rubbed the back of his hand against his chin, which she had almost kissed.
“I know you gave up on me because of Emmett. But is it my fault that he likes me? How can you just hand me over to him without asking for my opinion?” Naomi was lying there, murmuring softly.
Scott sat across from her, his tone steady and serious. “I’ve explained to you countless times. I thought you understood. One cannot be so greedy.”
Naomi looked up at him, as if she was gazing at the stars. “All I desire is you, she said.
Scott sighed. “I think you need a psychiatrist. You’re not well.”
Tears streamed down Naomi’s face like a dam that had burst its levee, pouring out uncontrollably.
“I am sick. From the day you insincerely claimed not to like me, I was stricken by illness to my core, beyond any hope of recovery.
When Scott returned to the card room, Jemina was already sitting next to Zander.
She initially intended to find a random spot to lay low for a while, but she wasn’t sure if she had been spotted while running back. If they returned and found her missing, they would likely suspect it was her.
Therefore, returning to the card room was the safest option.
“Mr. Sterling, you’re back.”
Zander felt as if a great weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Playing the card game truly required a strong heart. At that moment, he genuinely admired Jemima. His heart would tighten every time he tossed in a few more chips, yet she was bold enough to go all in.
Zander rose to his feet, and Jemima quickly followed suit.
lust stay in your seal,” Scott remarked nonchalantly.

“Huh?” Jemima was halfway up from her seat. “I’ll go and keep Ms. Atkins.”
“She’s resting in the room, there’s no need for you to accompany her,” he said, a hint of displeasure in his tone.
Jemima watched as Scott took a seat, her mind filled with questions.

I just said I was going to keep Mts. Atkins company. Why is he upset? Could it be… that he thinks I was trying to take advantage of Mi Atkins when I tried to carry her earlier? But we’re not gay! I hat is he thinking?
Scott glanced at the chips accumulated since he left. “Zander seems to be
on a
roll
With a smile playing on her lips, Jemima remained silent. One of the wealthy men, however, broke the silence. “The one who’s lucky is the beauty by your side. Tell me, Mr. Sterling, where did you find someone so stunning and smart? I must say, I’m quite envious.”
As he spoke. his eyes were fixed intently on Jemima’s voluptuous figure that seemed to be bursting out of her purple blouse. He wished he could carry her up to the third–floor room and undress her right away.
A wave of nausea surged within the depths of Jemima’s heart.
However, there was nothing she could do. Smiling in silence was the only option.
While Scott maintained his courteous demeanor, a frosty glint flashed in his eyes. “Mr. Hull, it might do you good to keep your attention on the game, instead of the fairer sex. Otherwise, you might lose everything.”
As soon as these words were spoken, the wealthy man who spoke immediately withdrew his gaze.
A clear warning had been given.
Others who had designs for Jemima no longer dared to covet her anymore.
While a beautiful woman was certainly desirable, she was not exactly a rarity. To offend the young scion of the Sterling family for the sake of a woman was simply not worth it.
Jemima was pleased by his protective nature, but she was not surprised, as he was inherently a good person.
After playing a few more rounds, they called it a night.
The yacht subsequently returned to the dock.
Willow sought Scott’s contact information, which Scott had Zander provide to her.
Getting contact information wasn’t difficult, as Kian had it. However, the significance of obtaining it personally compared to getting it from someone else was entirely different.
However, by giving it through the assistant… Scott had made it abundantly clear to Kian and Willow that their relationship was strictly business.
Willow was a straightforward girl, the disappointment on her face telling. However, she quickly perked up and cheerfully
asked Zander for his number.
Imph, just because you don’t like me now doesn’t mean I don’t have a chance in the future.
Zander could only sigh to himself. Yet another woman who has fallen hopelessly in love with a CEO.
