On the day of the drug presentation, I stood
on stage, representing our team. I used
simple language to explain the effects of our
product, earning applause from the entire
room.
As the presentation ended, and I was about to
leave, a group of reporters shoved
microphones and cameras in my face.
“Ms. Stacy, is it true your drug is plagiarized?
What do you have to say about that?”
“Ms. Stacy, is it true you slept with a
researcher from the rival lab to get the
research? Is that true?”
“Ms. Stacy, what do you have to say about
home wrecking?
These people were hostile. I was shocked and
didn’t know what to say. Before I could react,
a woman came at me.
“Stacy! It’s your fault, you killed my baby. You

have the nerve to come to this presentation.
I’ll kill you!”
The woman screamed, scratching at my face
and pulling my hair. I fought back, pushing
her away, and finally saw her face.
“Olivia? What are you doing here?”
Olivia got up from the ground, facing the
reporters, pointing at me, and accusing me. “It’s her, Stacy, the so–called drug researcher
seduced my husband and stole my husband’s
research as her own product to present!”
“Not only that, but a year ago, she destroyed my family, pushed me down the stairs, and made me lose my baby. How can someone
like her be on the stage!”
Olivia then showed the photo of her and
Mike’s marriage certificate, and her doctor’s
documents.
The scene became chaotic as the reporters
swarmed me again, wanting me to respond.
Just as I was about to react, a pair of strong
arms pulled me out of the crowd, pulling me
behind him.
“Olivia! What are you doing here?”
I recognized the familiar voice and looked up.
It was Mike!
Seeing Mike protecting me, Olivia started
screaming, like she lost it. “So you’re
protecting this chick? You dog!”
Mike held me tight, letting Olivia’s nails tear
at his face.
This proved that he had something to do with
- me. I pushed him away and slapped Olivia in
the face.
“Ms., your libel and personal attack have all
been recorded by the cameras here, I will be
suing you.”
“As for the questions the reporters asked me,
I will respond in a few minutes.”
I left.
In the corner, Mike grabbed my wrist.
“Stacy, it’s really you, you’re really back…”
Mike had tears in his eyes, he couldn’t stop
shaking, his voice was full of surprise.
I frowned and grabbed his hand. “Do I have
anything to do with you? Mr. Harrison, please
don’t touch me.”
Mike’s face showed hurt, he sighed. “Stacy,
you’re still mad, right? A year ago, I heard
there was a talented researcher coming to
Ocean City, I thought it was you, but they
were hiding you. I couldn’t find out anything
about you.”
“I saw you standing on stage, so I knew you
were back.”
I didn’t understand. I already let him be with.
Olivia in my past life, why was he still asking
about me, not leaving me alone.

Mike quickly explained, seeing my confusion:
“I didn’t marry Olivia, I divorced her the next
day. When I heard you left, I wanted to go
find you, but Olivia went crazy, and both of us
rolled down the stairs, and she lost the baby,
and I had to stay in the hospital for half a
month.”
“Olivia became insane after she lost her baby,
so I sent her to the mental hospital, I don’t
know why she escaped from there…”
“Stacy, trust me, I only felt guilty for her in
the past, I just saw her as a child, so I cared
for her, I only love you.”
