There were three other available elevators they could take. They could have easily chosen another one. But for taking a different elevator felt like they were deliberately avoiding their boss.

The elevator was more spacious than those in typical residential buildings, big enough to hold five people and a wheelchair But even so, maneuvering within it wasn’t the easiest task.
She stepped back, accidentally bumping into Zander’s arm. As she muttered an apology, the movement caused her to push the wheelchair forward–more than she intended.
Jemima suddenly found herself being propelled straight toward Scott’s legs.
