As I lay dying, my soul seemed to float above the hospital.
I heard Gabriel suppressing his anger.
“Mia should be the one dying. Rose is so pitiful, why does she have to get this illness?”
Rose lay pale on the hospital bed.
Her words implied: “I don’t blame Mia. It’s my fault for doing wrong with Gabriel. She hates me and deliberately poisoned me to cause this illness. I deserve it.”
Floating nearby, I couldn’t help but smile bitterly.
So even as I was about to die, Rose was still throwing mud at me.
I was really about to die.
Gabriel began to curse angrily:
“Mia, you’re so heartless. Rose is just an innocent girl. Just because she has dwarfism, you had to do this to her?”
“If you have the guts, keep hiding. Don’t let me catch you, or I’ll definitely punish you severely.”
A flash of malice crossed Rose’s eyes as she asked expectantly.
“I heard Gabriel went to find many doctors for me. Did you find that reclusive doctor?”

I felt utterly hopeless. Even though Rose had shown me countless intimate photos over the past three years, it was nothing compared to what I saw today.
I felt a surge of blood in my heart, a sweet taste spreading in my throat.
This was the omen of death.
My pupils dilated, and after spitting out a mouthful of blood, I finally passed away.
Gabriel rushed back to the cellar entrance.
“Bang bang bang.”
Violent knocking came from the cellar door. This time, Gabriel opened it himself.
His expression was full of disgust, not even trying to hide it.
“Mia, it’s been three years. You should have some limits.”
For Rose’s condition, even if there was only a glimmer of hope, he recklessly plunged into the cellar.
But the cellar was empty, except for various blood–stained torture instruments.
And a blood–covered figure that was almost mummified.
Nothing else.
He walked towards the wooden stake, full of suspicion, cursing as he went: “Mia, what kind of trick are you playing?”
But the next second.
His expression changed drastically, as if he had seen a ghost.
His lips trembled, even his fingertips shaking.
The objects in the cellar were old and in disrepair. After the bombing and blasting, the wooden stake was about to collapse.
The stake swayed, about to fall to the ground.
In that instant, Gabriel clearly saw the face of the blood–covered figure.
He scrambled towards the blood–covered figure.
His eyes nearly popping out of their sockets: “Mia!”
