After Being Abandoned, I Go Mad
Chapter 1
My birthday was the day my company went bankrupt.
My husband, Alex, publicly announced our
divorce.
He called it my birthday present.
I also received a “gift” from his white moonlight, Tiffany–a funeral shroud and a wreath.
Tiffany sneered, “Sarah, how does it feel to fall from a high–flying CEO to a street beggar?”
“If I were you, I wouldn’t even have the face to live!”
“Die early, be reborn early, and stop making a
fool of yourself.”
Watching them drive away laughing, I was
heartbroken and hopeless. I went to the river
and jumped in.
Then, I woke up. I was back in college, fresh
out of graduation.

I looked around at my laughing classmates,
completely bewildered.
It took a while to accept that I was reborn.
My classmates looked at me with envy and
excitement.
“Sarah, it’s your birthday tonight! Be happy!
Alex said he’s bringing a birthday present,
he’ll be here soon.”
“I envy you, having such a loving boyfriend. I
heard your family is setting you up with

startup funds. Career and love–you’ve got it
all!”
“Sarah, we graduate in a few months. When
you and Alex start your business, can you give us a hand?”
“Don’t forget to invite us to your wedding!” I gave a polite, fake smile, saying nothing. In my past life, I was too naive.
After graduation, with my family’s help, I
started a company, bringing in several classmates.
They colluded with Alex to embezzle company
funds and betray me.
After my parents died, they became even
more brazen, helping Alex and Tiffany transfer
my assets, leading to my bankruptcy and
crippling debt.

Since I’ve been reborn, I won’t repeat my
mistakes.
Seeing my silent smile, Alex’s buddy, Mark,
joked, “Sarah, say something!”
“Can we work for your company after
graduation?”
Before I could answer, my roommate, Chloe,
chimed in, “Sarah already said we’d all get
jobs at her company after graduation. She
promised great benefits!”
“We’re Sarah’s best friends! She wouldn’t
mistreat us!”
Mark and Chloe’s synchronized performance
almost made me want to smash a beer bottle
over their heads.
Chloe was my closest friend in college, and
Mark was Alex’s best friend.

I trusted them, letting them manage finance
and HR when the company was new.
But after my parents passed, while I was
distracted, Chloe manipulated the finances, and Mark messed up the HR.
They not only bankrupted me but also
saddled me with debt.
Alex and Tiffany had bribed them, so they
betrayed me without hesitation.
Though I wanted to kill them, I put on a fake
smile.
Then, Alex arrived.
He looked at me lovingly, knelt before me,
and said, “Sarah, today marks our third
anniversary.”
“Many say graduation is breakup season, but I
don’t believe it.”

“I want to spend my life with you, grow old
with you.”
“For the rest of my life, I’ll never let you
down.”
“Marry me?”
He pulled out a ring, eyes full of expectation.
Chloe and Mark started cheering.
“Marry him, marry him!”
“Sarah, what are you waiting for? Alex is such
a great guy, you’ll regret it if you miss him!”
I felt a pang of déjà vu.
In my past life, I was thrilled by his proposal.
I thought it was the best birthday gift.
I said yes, married Alex shortly after
graduation.
Later, I found out the ring was originally for
Tiffany, but she thought it was cheap, so he

used it on me.
I only realized Alex never loved me when I was
dying.
He only saw me as an ATM!
Looking at Alex kneeling before me, I smiled.
I pretended to be thrilled and accepted his
proposal.
If I confronted him now, it would be too easy
for him.
I wouldn’t let anyone who hurt me get away
with it.
