Chapter 5
When Hana came back from the hospital, my dad also came back.
I watched as Hana, wrapped up like a mummy, was escorted upstairs by my parents. Silently, I
looked up, gazing at the sky at a forty–five–degree angle, lost in thought.
“Miss, don’t overthink it, after all, you have lived with the Fenn family for eighteen years.”
Cora walked up to me and draped a blanket over me, her tone filled with comfort.
I turned around, slowly shifting my gaze to her face, and said earnestly, “Cora, I have thought it
through.”
“The person who switched me and Hana as nurses in the beginning was a master.”
Cora froze, her eyes filled with complexity.
I raised my hand and placed it on her shoulder, continuing to say, “She predicted that Hana and the
Fenn family were not compatible.”
Cora opened her mouth wide.
“She had only come back twice and turned out like this. If she had been at home for eighteen years, could she have survived and grown up? There must be a master who exchanged me to protect her
from disaster!”
