Jason texted me.
Among a sea of red exclamation marks and
green message boxes,
that white–framed black–lettered message
stood out.
It seems Jason took me off his blacklist.
I thought ironically.
Jason asked me to go to his company on
Monday, and he would have the lawyer draft
the agreement.
Once both sides were satisfied, they could sign and wait for the divorce cooling–off
period.
【Okay. 】
On Monday, I went to Jason’s company as
scheduled.
Since I didn’t have an appointment, the
receptionist called for confirmation.
“Yes, a Ms. Shen.”
After hanging up, the receptionist told me to
go to the president’s office floor; a secretary
would greet me.
I thanked her and went directly to Jason’s
floor.
A strange young girl greeted me.
I didn’t recognize her.
After all, since separating from Jason, I hadn’t
been here for six months.
She must be a new employee.
“Ms. Shen, please wait here; Mr. Zhou is in a
meeting.”
The girl didn’t know me either.
She called me Ms. Shen and led me to a
waiting room.
Before, I went directly to Jason’s office to
wait.
His meetings lasted at least an hour.
I don’t like waiting.
Jason knew this, and to prevent me from
being bored, he kept many books and movies
in his office.
“You can read and watch movies; if you’re
tired, go to the break room to wait.”
That’s what he used to tell me.
The last time I came,
all my things in Jason’s office had been
replaced.
The person who could freely enter his private
rest room was someone else.
Now, to see him, I could only wait in an
ordinary waiting room.
But I really didn’t have the mood or energy to
make a fuss over this.
So I waited quietly.
Time was sufficient.
<
But what I didn’t expect was that I waited for
two hours.
No one came to tell me to see Jason.
“Excuse me, is your Mr. Zhou’s meeting
over?”
I couldn’t help but ask the girl who had led me
to the waiting room.
The girl hesitated: “Mr. Zhou is still in a
meeting…”
I frowned, about to speak,
when I suddenly heard laughter.
“Let’s go to that restaurant for lunch.”
“Okay.”
