He and Sarah… it’s over just like that?
Jason didn’t believe it.
<
He didn’t give the divorce agreement to his
lawyer.
That night, Lily prepared a candlelight dinner
to celebrate.
Looking at Lily’s smiling face, he felt extremely frustrated and disheartened. “Jason, when are we getting married?” Lily asked him with a smile.
Before he could answer, Lily had already
started daydreaming about the wedding. “I want to wear the most beautiful wedding
dress, and the hall must be filled with
flowers.”
Looking at Lily’s sparkling eyes in the
candlelight,
he thought of his wedding day with Sarah.
Back then, during their early entrepreneurial
days, they were incredibly poor.
After Sarah sold her ring, she didn’t have any
jewelry left.
They got married simply, spending just a few
dollars on the certificate.
That night, they excitedly bought two bottles
of beer, sat by the river, singing and drinking.
He thought then,
when he had money, he would give Sarah a
grand and lavish wedding.
But he never did, only taking a small set of
wedding photos.
He even squeezed out half an hour from his
work to take those photos.
“Let’s talk about it later.”
He suddenly lost interest, interrupting Lily.
Lily’s expression froze; her smile faded as she
stared at him.
