Before the wedding, I was changing in the
dressing room.
I turned to reach for the zipper.
A hand helped me zip it up from behind.
His fingers brushed against my skin.
“Senior…‘
Seeing the man’s face in the mirror, my smile
froze.
“Ethan, what are you doing here?”
“Sarah, come with me.”
He hugged me tightly from behind.
His eyes burned with intensity.
I struggled, and heard his dangerous words. “Imagine, if I take you here, everyone sees it, will your good senior still marry you?”
“Ethan, you’re shameless…”
“Yes, I’m shameless, it’s your fault! I can’t live without you! Sarah, I can’t live without you!” Ethan’s face twisted, his expression dazed.
I remembered what my best friend told me,
that after he learned of my death, he locked
himself in a room for months, not eating or
drinking.
When he came out, his mind wasn’t quite
right.
I raised my high heels and stepped on his
shoes.
He winced in pain and let go of me.
Before I could reach the doorknob, my hair
was pulled from behind.
“Help…”
Ethan pulled out a towel and covered my
mouth.
A pungent smell filled the air.
My body began to soften.
He had planned it all.
His real intention was to take me away from
Hong Kong.
When I woke up, I was in a small private jet.
Ropes bound me to the seat.
Ethan knelt beside me.
“Sarah, I’m sorry, I made you think of your
parents again, don’t worry, this is the last
time you’ll be on a plane. When we get back,
we’ll live a good life, I’ll do anything you ask.”
His voice was urgent, his eyes pleading.
“Mr. Song, there’s a plane following us!”
His assistant shouted.
In the rearview mirror, our eyes met.
“Get rid of him! Sarah is my wife, he can’t
take her away!”
Ethan’s eyes rolled uncontrollably, flashing
eerily.
I looked at the special storage compartment
under the seat and decided to appease him.
“Ethan, please untie me.”
“Sarah, you haven’t called me Ethan in a long
time, call me that again, please.”
I called his nickname repeatedly, calming his
unrest.
Ethan relaxed his guard and untied me.
The assistant’s voice rang out.
“Mr. Song, the plane seems to have
malfunctioned, you should come and
check…”
While Ethan went to check, I opened the door
and jumped out as the plane slowed down for
landing.
“Sarah, no!”
The moment I jumped, I opened my
parachute.
Ethan’s assistant was someone I introduced
to the company.
He had been looking for a chance to repay
- me.
When he warned Ethan about the pursuing
plane, he used his eyes to signal the
parachute in the storage compartment.
When Ethan untied me, the assistant pressed
the button to open the door in the cockpit,
giving me a chance to jump.
“Sarah, please don’t let go!”
Unexpectedly, Ethan grabbed my hand.
“Ethan, let go!”
“Sarah, you’ll die if you jump, would you
rather die than come back with me?”
Ethan still wouldn’t let go.
“Ethan, even if I die, I won’t go back with
you!”
I will never forget the year he caused a minor
actress to have a miscarriage.
The news was on the hot search for a week.
I asked him for a divorce.
Ethan said I was being disobedient.
He didn’t let me see Tommy, and locked me
in a cage in the basement.
It was a nightmare for three months.
I could imagine, this time he brought me back
to the city, he would definitely hide me.
I bit Ethan’s hand.
He frowned in pain, but still wouldn’t let go.
I slowly pried his fingers open.
“Ethan, goodbye!”
“Sarah, no!”
Amid his heart–wrenching roar, I jumped.
I landed in a plain.
I had gambled right.
Before jumping, I observed the terrain and
confirmed that this height would not be life-
threatening before taking the risk.
Except for some scratches on my arms, I was
unharmed.
My senior’s plane followed closely.
Back in Hong Kong, we held another wedding. Ironically, Ethan, witnessing me jump, thought
I was dead, and in a daze, he also jumped, falling into the sea.
The same sea he had used to play a cruel
joke on me on April Fool’s Day.
It turned out that everything was fated.
