The next morning, Caroline woke up and heard sweet laughter coming from the second floor.
She got up and walked outside, from a distance she could see the second–floor lobby, where Travis was teaching Stella how to arrange flowers.
The two of them were very close, as Travis gently explained to Stella how to trim different flowers.
Watching the heartwarming scene between the two, Caroline felt a bit dazed.
When Travis was disabled, she worried that he would be bored, so she took the initiative to teach
him flower arranging for a period of time.
The man had an excellent memory. She taught him only once, and he learned it.
Later, he had his assistant order flowers, and the first thing he did every morning when he woke up
was to put a bouquet of flowers by her bedside.
He hasn’t done it again since Stella returned to her home country.
Caroline’s eyelashes drooped, concealing the loneliness in her eyes.
She walked downstairs, getting ready to have breakfast.
Just as he had taken a few steps, he was struck down by a heavy vase.
A loud bang.
Her skull was instantly smashed, and a stream of fresh blood flowed down from her head, causing
her to curl up in pain on the ground.
In a daze, she saw Stella slowly walking down from the second floor, with a smile on her face.
“Oh dear, sister–in–law, I just wanted to show you the freshly arranged flowers, but accidentally slipped and hit you on the head.”
What should I do? Your head is covered in blood, it looks really scary. Should I call an ambulance for you? But I’m too scared to pick up the phone, you won’t blame me, right? Sister–in–law, please bear with it a little longer….
Caroline fainted before she could finish listening.
Later, the maid saw it and was startled. She quickly took Caroline to the hospital.
When I woke up again, it was already noon.

Caroline’s head was sewn with a total of thirty stitches, looking quite gruesome.
The doctor said she had a mild concussion, accompanied by temporary blindness in her right eye.
Travis stood by the hospital bed, bent down and asked her if she was in pain, tenderly helping her up to drink water.
In his actions, he took care of her, but the words that came out of his mouth leaned towards Stella.
Stella knew she was wrong, and she felt very guilty. She was so remorseful that she almost fainted
just now.
“The servant who brought you to the hospital was caught by a gossip journalist, and now everyone is waiting for you to clarify it publicly.”
“Caroline, at that time you just say to the outside world that it was your carelessness that caused
you to fall and injure your head, so that the Howard family will also sell you a favor. You know,
Stella is Soundless, she saved my life before…”
Caroline turned around and pulled the blanket over her head.
Caroline, who was curled up in her blanket, had red eyes, whether it was due to physical pain or emotional pain.
She remembered that in the past, when her health was not good, there was a period of time when she would occasionally have a low–grade fever. Travis then hired three private doctors to take turns
staying by her side for twenty–four hours.
She had stomachache during her period, and Travis would comfort her all day, making her stay in bed and taking care of her meals and drinks.
Now, the person in front of me is not the same person as before.
Travis noticed Caroline quietly sobbing on the sickbed, his heart aching. Just as he was about to
comfort her, a nurse hurriedly walked in.
“Mr. Smith, the girl who came with you this morning suddenly fainted and started crying. Do you want to go and have a look?”
Upon hearing Stella fainting from crying, Travis disregarded Caroline and turned to walk out of the hallway.
Soon, the ward became quiet again, with only Caroline remaining.
Ten minutes later, Caroline’s phone vibrated. It was a text message from ‘Happy Stella‘.

Even if you had thirty stitches on your head and lost your right eye, so what? I don’t even need to cry, he would immediately come running to find me.
“Caroline, I disappeared for a few years, and when I came back, I mentioned wanting to have hist child, and he agreed. How could he not love me, you say?!
Not long after, Caroline received another video from Stella.
Travis comforted the sobbing Stella, his eyes turning red with heartache.
I
“Darling, don’t blame yourself. I promised to always protect you.”
“Caroline just got a minor head injury, it’s not a big deal. She won’t tell anyone that you
accidentally hit her. You should take good care of yourself now that you’re pregnant and not worry.
about these small matters.”
Caroline finished watching the video, her fingers tightly clenched in her palm.
She forced herself to get up and left the hospital alone.
Six hours before leaving, Caroline went to the church and prayed that her wish from that year
would not come true.
“Congratulations, Travis, you got what you wanted.”
Soon, Caroline returned to the villa.
The phone kept vibrating incessantly, it was a provocation message sent by Stella.
Caroline took just one glance, as she sat in front of her desk, slowly writing a farewell letter and casually including a photo of Soundless.
Immediately, she picked up the suitcase and went downstairs.
Caroline put the engagement ring that Travis gave her when he proposed in the hospital into a gray velvet gift box and handed it to Sebastian.
“Wait for Travis to come back and give this to him, and also let him know that there is a letter on
the desk for him.”
Sebastian saw Caroline had just taken off the engagement ring, and he vaguely guessed what was happening. Shocked, he exclaimed, “Mrs. Smith, is this…?”
“Thank you, Sebastian, for taking care of me these past few years. Hopefully, we will meet again in
the future.”

Caroline waved her hand and took a taxi to the airport, pulling her suitcase.
An hour later, at the airport entrance, Layla Hugh bid farewell to Caroline with reluctance.
“Caroline, once you leave, don’t come back.”
“You were doing well abroad, never bother with that scumbag Travis again in your life!”
Caroline hugged Layla with red eyes and looked at the city of Lashton, slightly raising her chin.
Goodbye, Lashton.
Never see you again, Travis.
