I was awakened by the sudden bright light, I was sleeping so soundly that I didn’t hear the knocking
at all.
I was surprised as I looked at Jayson’s gloomy face.
He actually came back this time?
Every time I had a date with Tessa before, he would always make an excuse to stay overnight at
Tessa’s house.
It’s not that Tessa was afraid of thunder and couldn’t sleep alone and needed someone to
accompany her, it’s that Tessa, a little girl, was unsafe at home alone, and he had to protect and
accompany her.
But before, five–year–old Lisa also said that she was afraid of the dark and wanted Jayson to come
back and accompany her.
He, however, said Lisa was being dramatic and even claimed that he wanted to toughen up Lisa’s
courage. When I wasn’t paying attention, he locked Lisa in a small dark room, causing her to develop claustrophobia.
Every night since then, Lisa would be awakened by nightmares and cry in fear.
In the past, I would get into a big argument with Jayson because of his biased and double standard
mentality, which made me feel emotionally unbalanced.
But now, I don’t care about whatever he does.
I made a faint “hmm” sound and covered my head with the blanket, continuing to sleep.
Jayson was initially taken aback, then furrowed his brows in displeasure.
“Stop it, I was tired. Can’t you go and fill the bathwater for me? Also, wash my clothes for me.”
He took off his coat and threw it to me.
The collar was covered in lip prints, and there was a strong scent of Tessa’s distinctive perfume.
It was disgusting.
If it were in the past, he wouldn’t have to say much, I would have rushed to serve him.
Now, I felt that he was being too much, so I threw the clothes back at him.

Jayson was momentarily stunned, then he pulled out a gift box from his pocket and threw it at me.
“I knew you were unhappy because of what happened during the day, so here you go.”
There were a pair of silver earrings.
But he forgot that I was allergic to silver, not to mention the fact that I didn’t have any ear piercings
at all.
What’s even funnier is that these earrings were something Tessa didn’t want, I saw them on her Instagram before.
I sneered and threw the earring into the trash can, saying, “I don’t want other people’s garbage
either.”
Jayson completely lost his patience, his face darkened like ink.
“Melany, did I spoil you too much?”
Feeling sleepy, I yawned and said, “I am very tired, there’s nothing else, I will go to sleep first.”
Seeing my indifferent attitude, Jayson gritted his teeth and said, “Fine! This is you forcing me to leave, don’t regret it!”
Jayson turned around to leave, but I called him back.
“Wait.”
Jayson’s mouth curled up, wearing an expression that seemed to say, “I knew you were just playing hard to get with me.”
The next second, I took out paper and a pen from the drawer and handed them to him.
“Sign this.”
Jayson’s eyes quickly grew cold.
“Did you stop me just to sign an insignificant and useless contract?”
I sneered, “Why don’t you look carefully before speaking?”
After reading the document, Jayson was taken aback and immediately snapped the pen in his hand.
