The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the corridor as the physician burst. into Alpha Caleb‘ s office, his face pale. and troubled. His usual composure was nowhere to be found, and his hands trembled as he clutched a stack of papers. Caleb, seated behind his desk, looked up from his thoughts, his brow furrowing at the sudden intrusion. “Doctor Langston, what’s going on?” Caleb’s voice was firm, though there was a subtle tension in his shoulders.
The physician, a middle–aged man with graying hair and steady hands, didn’t waste any time. He was shaking with unease as he placed the papers on Caleb’s desk. “Alpha Caleb,” he began, his voice low but urgent. “I’ve just completed your

Caleb’s eyes narrowed as a sense of foreboding gripped him. “What is it?” he demanded.
The physician took a deep breath before speaking, the words tumbling out in a rush. “Alpha, I’m afraid… you‘ re infertile.”
The room went silent, the weight of the physician’s words sinking in. Caleb blinked, his mind struggling to comprehend what he had just heard. Infertile? It was impossible. He had been healthy, strong, and fit to lead his pack–so how could this be?

Caleb’s world tilted. His chest tightened, and his breath caught in his throat as the implications hit him. His first thought was of Ivy, of the child she claimed to carry. His hands gripped the edge of the desk tightly, his knuckles turning white as anger and confusion surged within him.
Without thinking, he stood up, the papers on the desk scattering to the ground. “This… this can’t be right,” Caleb growled, his voice sharp. “If I can’t have children, then… then how the hell is Ivy pregnant with my child?”
The physician’s face softened with sympathy, but there was nothing he could say to ease the truth. He shook his head slowly. “That’s what I came to tell you. The child she’s carrying… it may not be

Caleb’s heart pounded, his mind reeling. This wasn’t possible. Ivy had been his chosen breeder, the one he had hoped to share his bloodline with since he thought Marissa could not bear his child. But now…
the truth was too much to ignore. Rage surged through him, clouding his judgment as he stormed out of his office and into the pack’s main hall.
