Chapter Nine
The Esinfectant smell in the hospital was unpleasant, I woke up with a headache and felt like my whole body was falling apart.
The argument outside the ward grew more intense and gradually reached my

wander Cathy didn’t get close to us after she came back, she must have thought we had abandoned her!
“Xander, how did I give birth to such a jerk like you! How am I supposed to explain to Cathy’s parents about you!”
“Mom, Dad, I didn’t expect it either. I just wanted her to behave better.”
“A crisp slap sound”
Next, there came a few muffled groans from Xander.
I thought Xander’s dad had hit him again, but it wasn’t until I heard Xander’s mom’s screen.
“Mr. Campbell!
Owen!
I wanted to get out of bed, but ended up falling on the ground. Oh, it turns out my leg was broken. I was in a room at two stories high. Jumping from the top, I wouldn’t really die from the fall.

Hearing a noise, Owen burst in from outside, his face weather–beaten and stubble growing on his chin, as if he hadn’t shaved in a few days,
I picked up a fruit from the bedside and threw it at him. Owen got hit, but he looked nervous and worried. He quickly came over and picked me up, putting
me back on the bed.
Xander’s mother called the doctor.
After a brief examination, the doctor said, “For the next half month, the patient should not get up casually. There is already an irreversible injury on the knee, and if they make any sudden movements, they can forget about their leg.”
It can be seen that the doctor was a little angry. Owen quickly apologized in a good and polite manner, saying, “I will never do it again next time.”
The doctor glanced strangely at the people surrounding me and sald to me, “If you need any help or legal assistance, come directly to me” After saying that, he went out to check the bed.
Well, with the injuries on my body, it’s hard not to make people think too much.
Owen came up and hugged me, covered in dust and dirt. I pushed him away, and–Xander’s mom came up and hugged me again.
This time, I didn’t dare to push
“Cathy, you suffered, it’s all my fault, I was a poor parent.”
I comforted her, “It’s okay, auntie, it’s all in the past.”
Xander stood silently in the corner of the hospital room, filled with guilt. He never expected that I would jump from the room.
“Pase! Kneel down for Catherine!
Xander’s father ordered to come
Xander obediently walked over, and I looked to Owen for help. Owen immediately pulled him up.
Catherine couldn’t bear it.
“Yes, uncle, the Lennox family took care of me for so long, this time, it’s time for me to repay the Lennox family.”
Xander’s mother, upon hearing this, cried even louder, “Cathy, are you trying to distance yourself from us?”
hook my head, not to distance myself from them, but from Xander.

“Uncle, auntie, I was not sensible in the past and caused trouble for you. My parents have been gone for a long time, and I am grateful for raising me. You are in my heart, just like my biological parents.”
Xander’s father couldn’t help but shed tears as well, he
he came over and patted my hand, saying, “The Lennox family is sorry to you.”
After a long conversation, the Lennox family’s parents left, saying they wanted me to rest and recover, and that they would come to see me again
Xander stood outside the door, unwilling to leave.
Catherine, we could never be together again, could we?
Upon hearing these words, Owen still wanted to go up and hit him, but I held him back
“Seven years were too hard, Xander. How many seven years does a person have in their lifetime?”
