“Charlotte, I’ve already resolved everything with Ava. She’ll never appear in front of us again. She lied to you–she was never pregnant.
Daniel stumbled over his words as he tried to explain.
“But you did spend the night with her in that room, didn’t you?”
Daniel froze; his lips pressed tightly together, too afraid to
lift his head and meet my gaze.
Yes, Daniel had indeed lost control with Ava in that room that night.
At first, when Ava made her advances,
he refused.
That room belonged to Charlotte, and he didn’t want to taint it.
But under her seductive and thrilling temptation, he had eventually given in.
“Daniel, just go back,” I said, rubbing my temples, unwilling to continue this exhausting conversation.
Hearing this, Daniel shook his head stubbornly. “Charlotte, I won’t leave unless you come back with me. I promise you, nothing like this will ever happen again. I’ll never let anyone hurt you.”
“From the beginning, you were the only one who hurt me.”
If Daniel hadn’t succumbed to temptation, no matter what Ava tried, she would have failed,
Daniel had made a mistake–that much was crystal clear.

Daniel had no response.
After a long silence, he stood up and said, “Charlotte, I will win you back.”
He rented a room near my shop.
Every day, he prepared three meals by hand and delivered them to my store, paying meticulous attention to every detail.
Many people who didn’t know the full story envied me, while others thought I was being ungrateful. Some even tried to strike up conversations with Daniel, only to be coldly rejected.
I saw all of this, but it didn’t sway me in the slightest.
What had happened couldn’t be undone, and no amount of effort could make up for it.
A week after Daniel arrived in the small town, Ava stubbornly returned–and this time, she was genuinely pregnant.
But the child wasn’t Daniel’s.
In the past, when Daniel was furious, he hadn’t just expelled Ava from the company; he had also taken back everything he’d ever given her and even exposed evidence of her repeated attempts to seduce him.

Daniel had no choice but to return and deal with the company’s affairs.
Before leaving, he came to me and said, “Charlotte, I’ll come back as soon as I handle this. Wait for me I will return.”
