“I didn’t know they were mine.” Alex whispered, the words hanging heavy in the air. “My children. Damien… I heard faint sounds of the argument when I woke up. Both men froze and turned to the doorway as I weakly murmured in the hospital bed.
Alex lingered by the door, his movements froze when my eyes locked with his, forcing him by invisible strings to come inside Damien rushed into the ward, his anger evaporating in an instant as he held my hands tightly fearing that he might lose me. “Elena, the children are fine.” Damien said, making my throat choke with emotions of utter relief as I gasped, tremors going throughout my broken body.
“You scared me darling. It’s alright. Everything is okay, breathe Elena.” Damien looked at me all over in anxiousness as I clutched his arm trying to breathe amidst heart wrenching sobs.
Alex on the other hand couldn’t bring himself to step closer, thus despite the pain burning my insides I tried with all my strength to propel myself to stand with Damien’s support.
“Why?”my eyes blazing with fury as I spat, my throat buming.
“How could you?! On receiving no answer I screamed in agony with tears streaming down my face
“How could you even think of killing my children your children you disgusting bastard?!” Alex stood frozen as for the first time the hatred for him was evident in my irises, it irked him to the core making him furious.
“What special had I asked for?! Tell me?! When I saw that you hate our children I simply left without asking for a single penny for support but you hunted us down here too like a predator
If you wish to kill me then go ahead and do it! But why my children?!”
“Because I thought they were Damien’s!” Alex gritted his teeth shouting in rage.
Those words made me stumble back as Damien glared at Alex sharply.!!
“What did you say?”
said it’s his fault! You must have shared his bed so how could I leave it be
Before he could complete his sentence, I went forward, my palm colliding with his cheek in a harsh slap. Alex lifted a hand to his stinging cheek in disbelief, his mouth opening and closing like a fish gasping for air.
“Falling in love with you was a curse Alex, I would have never fallen for a man like you if only I hadn’t mistaken you for Damien…all those letters, saving me from the accident and your manipulative lies made me think that a maniac like you was capable of love but no.
Alex staggered back, stunned by both the force of the slap and my words, he looked at me, his intense gaze dangerously.
“If you tried murdering me today I would have still forgiven you but you tried snatching my happiness-”

Alex’s smirk twisted into a snarl as he watched Damien holding me even closer as if protecting me from his raged feral self. “Get your hands off her, Damien,” he spat. “This is between us.“X
I breathed shakily as I now saw my ex–husband whom I loved so much once being completely unrecognizable.
“Why do you think I sent Jessica to prison Elena? It’s all for you baby!”
“Jessica? What are you talking about?” I whispered as if seeing Alex’s facade slowly slipping.
“I know I took some harsh steps when I spread your morphed photos on the internet but believe me baby It was to wake you up from your fantasy of wishing for a happy family with my good‘ brother Damien
I knew that it would be sad to lose the children so I was going to make Jessica give the child in her belly to you.”!
“Baby I understand that you might have been miserable for sometime but I had already set up doctors to drug Jessica everyday.
That way they will force her to give birth prematurely to give a child to you soon! How can I forget how kind you are Elena, so I wanted the child to look healthy when it came to you so he would have been taken off-”
Without letting him complete I slapped him again, it was even harder this time. The sound echoed in the tense silence of the room. Alex didn’t flinch. Instead, to my horror, he began to laugh as tears streamed down his face.
“You are a fucking monster!“)
“Monster?” he repeated, his laughter mingling into sorrow. “You have no idea what a monster looks like
