The night before my birthday, Garrett didn’t
come home. He was with Lily, no doubt.
I sat on the balcony swing, lit a cigarette
under the moonlight.
Only when Garrett was gone could I be
myself. I was never a refined lady like Lily,
skilled in the arts.
Six years of pretending had worn me out.
I mimicked playing the piano, then chuckled.
I grabbed a glass and finished off one of
Garrett’s eight–figure bottles of wine, then
stumbled onto the bed and passed out.
“Happy Birthday, baby.”
The first birthday wish was from Taylor. After
replying with a kissy face emoji, I got ready.
It was my birthday, and my goodbye to
Garrett. I had to look my best.
[Got any surprises for me tonight?] I texted
Garrett.
[Of course, wait for my message.] He replied
instantly.
I was genuinely curious.
So after getting ready, I waited on the sofa
for his “message.”
Night fell.
I glanced at the five–figure takeout order I’d
demolished.
I wouldn’t deprive myself while waiting for
him. I’d ordered my favorite food and did a
little impulsive shopping.
Then I realized I was leaving soon and
wouldn’t be able to receive those orders.
Leulked for a hit
“What’s the hold up?” It was 10 PM. My
birthday was almost over.
No reply to my texts, no answer to my calls.
Fine. I ordered a birthday cake, not a custom
one, but it’ll do.
After eating a slice, I called Taylor.
“Get ready!”
“Your sugar daddy’s been with Lily all night.‘
“I figured. I’m on
my way.
I hung up, got in the coolest car in the
garage, and left the villa.
The highway was fairly empty at this hour. I
drove, enjoying the night air.
To ensure success, I planned a “fatal car
accident” near Garrett’s private hospital.
But plans change. I was driving along, when a
truck slammed into my rear.
A loud crash, then silence.
Car accidents don’t hurt at all, was my first
thought.
I felt someone pulling me from the wreckage.
They were frantically performing CPR.
“Hang in there! Just hang in there!”
Warm sweat dripped onto my face.
Only one thought filled my mind.
Don’t revive me! If you do, my escape plan’s
ruined!
My prayers may have been answered. I felt
lighter and lighter, until my soul floated.
I saw the young man performing CPR still
hadn’t given up.
I’m sorry.
The ambulance siren wailed, heading straight
for Garrett’s hospital.
I watched myself being lifted onto a stretcher,
heading to the hospital. My “corpse” and I
arrived at the hospital together.
In front of the operating room, I saw a doctor
holding my organ donation agreement. “This
lady, who died in a car accident, is a match.
for Ms. Lily’s heart. We can proceed with the
transplant immediately.”
I clearly saw the immense joy on Garrett’s
face.
It was past midnight. On my birthday, I said a
final goodbye to Garrett.
