When Alyssa looks at me, I already know what’s running through her head. Her eyes plead with me, but behind that desperation is a determination I’ve never seen before.
She’s going to sacrifice herself. Whatever bullshit he’s feeding her has wormed its way into her brain, convincing her that she has no other choice and going with him is the only way to protect her child.
I can’t let it happen.
I know I made her a promise, but now, watching her stare down the devil himself, I can’t go through with it. If I let her walk away with him, King will fucking kill me–and I won’t even fight back because I’ll deserve it.
Even worse than that, I’ll have to live with myself knowing that failed her. Again.
Isaac’s playing his hand perfectly, like the smug, manipulative asshole he is. Dragging the law into this was a bitch move, and he knows it. He’s got just enough leverage to make Alyssa think she’s cornered, but what he doesn’t know is that we can play just as dirty. Whatever he’s planning. I’ll make sure it blows up in his face.
Logan shifts beside me, his voice low. “What the fuck is she doing?”
The tension in his words is almost enough to cut through my own anger. I glance at him, noting the subtle soft edge to his tone/1 think I’m getting pretty good at telling the difference between him and his alter. If War were in charge right now. Isaac would already be bleeding on the ground, and we’d be gearing up for a shootout
I guess even though I don’t fully trust the Serpents, especially after the warning call from War, I’m glad Logan’s here. With King’s unstable ass in the clubhouse, I need some muscle in case Isaac grows some balls today. Highly doubt it, but still, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared.
My attention shifts back to Alyssa and Isaac, the space between them crackling with barely restrained hostility. I can’t make out their words with Alyssa turned away from me, but Isaac’s body language is telling me everything I need to know. His smug smirks, his condescending tilt of the head–it’s all an act. I can see the monster lurking beneath, coiled and ready to
strike.
But what really sets my teeth on edge is the way his gaze keeps dropping to the property patch on Alyssa’s cut. His jaw tightens each time, his expression hardening.
The look in his eyes is not love. It’s not regret. It’s possession.
King’s claimed her, marked her as his, and Isaac doesn’t like that someone else has pissed on what he still considers his property. It means that patch makes Alyssa more of a target, but also puts a bullseye squarely on King’s back. Now if Isaac decides to make a move, it won’t just be Alyssa that’ll pay the price.
Fuck. King can’t touch him at all now. Isaac’s too slippery for a direct approach, and if he ends up dead, King will be the first

We need a different plan to get to him. A legal way…more or less
But first, I need to stop Alyssa from making a stupid mistake. Isaac’s fucking dangerous, and the second she leaves with him, he’s either going to kill her or make her wish he did.
I saunter over to them, Logan falling in step behind me. The cops tense as we approach, but they don’t intervene. As long as 1 don’t lay a hand on Isaac, I’m not breaking any laws.

I grab Alyssa by the arm, pulling her back just enough to step between them. “Whatever bullshit your’re feeding her, it ends now,” I snap, my voice low and venomous. “She’s not going anywhere with you”
“Gray, what the fuck Alyssa starts, but I cut her off with a sharp are.
“You’ve done what you came to do,” I say, my focus fixed on Isa “Now leave.”
Isaac smirks, and my hand twitches to fucking punch him in his face. “I’m not leaving without her. Besides, Gray, she said she wants to go.
I sneer. “Well, she’s not.”
“Gray, please “Alyssa’s voice cracks, and it takes everything in me not to let it break me too.
She’s adamant about leaving with him, probably already accepting the fact that she won’t be coming back. She’s strong, so fucking strong, but I can’t let her do this.
Before she can pull out of my grasp, Logan steps in, his arms wrapping around her like a shield. His voice is soft, almost tender. “It’s okay, angel,” he murmurs, holding her just tight enough to keep her in place.
Shit. King’s not gonna like that, but right now, I have bigger problems to handle.
Isaac’s expression darkens, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. “If that’s the case, then say your goodbyes, Alyssa. You won’t be seeing your daughter again. But don’t worry, I’ll make sure Mom tells her the tragic story of how you fell for a criminal and abandoned her.
No! Alyssa cries, her voice filled with panic. She struggles against Logan’s hold, but he doesn’t let go. “Gray, please. I had it handled. Let me do this!”
The only thing she’s going to do is get herself and her baby killed

Isaac laughs right in my fucking face. “You think you intimidate ne, thug?” he spits with like the snake he is. “Zuri is my daughter. If I have proof that she’s living in an unsafe environment surrounded by criminals, including the one she’s spreading her legs for, I have every right to remove her from it.
I pull out my phone, my lips curving into a humorless smile. “I see you’re quick to think you’ve won without seeing my hand

press play, the sound from the video blaring loud enough for the entire street to hear. Moans, desperate and unmistakable, fill the air. Isaac’s voice follows, chanting his boss’s name over and over again.
His face drains of color, his jaw tightening as he tries to keep his composure. “What the fuck is that?”
I raise my voice just enough for the cops to catch every word. “You don’t recognize your own asshole? Or is it that stretched
out now?”
One of the officers behind us stifles a laugh, while another one turns away, wide–eyed.
Isaac’s fists clench at his sides, the monster simmering just beneath his skin. “You don’t know who you’re fucking with,” he hisses, his voice and trembling with rage.

I tower over him, my smile widening. “Oh, I know enough. Like you couldn’t top if someone fucking paid you to.” I pause, letting my insult sink in. “Now, here’s the deal. You leave my sister alone and handle this in court because God knows she’s ready to divorce your bottom bitch ass anyway, or I’ll release every single one of these videos. Even the one of you in high school being gang–banged by the football team. I’m sure your family–and the families of every guy you’ve fucked–would just love to see them.”
He swallows hard, glaring at Alyssa. But I snap iny fingers in front of his face. “Hey, don’t look at her. I’m the one who’s going to make your life hell if you don’t get the fuck off my property.”
For a moment, he’s silent, his raging blue eyes bouncing between me and Alyssa. Then, slowly, his lips curl into a sickening smile. “Fine, Alyssa. Thank your brother because the deal we make is off. Enjoy being a whore while it lasts, I hope it’s worth losing everything you care about.”
Fuck it. I’ll take the assault charge.
Before I can stop myself, I pull my fist back and punch him square in the face, feeling the satisfying crunch of bone as I pour every ounce of anger, frustration, and hatred into the hit.
