I can’t believe in doing this. I took the car after Gray was arresteil, not bothering to tell the guys. Now Logan’s in the passenger seat, and Christine’s sitting quietly behind him. I’ve pulled the seat in close, gripping the wheel tight as I weave through traffic like a woman possessed.
I know I shouldn’t have taken off the way I did, but something ide me needed to feel in control again. Especially after the day I’ve had. I haven’t driven since the day I escaped Isaac, and just feels good.
Besides, I shouldn’t feel guilty anyway. I’m a grown–ass woman, and technically, King bought this car for me, so really. I’m not doing anything wrong, right? But even as I tell myself that, the guilt gnaws at me. I know the guys are going to be furious with me anyway. Im in serious trouble, and the thought fills me with a mix of apprehension and a strange thrill.
I still can’t believe Gray punched Isaac in the face, and I’m pretty sure he broke his nose. There was blood everywhere, and Isaac was trying not to cry. That’s probably why the police arrested him even though Isaac said he wasn’t going to press charges
Stupid asshole. Why would he do that? I know he was defending me, but it’s not like “whore” is the worst thing Isaac has ever called me. Gray really should’ve had better control and brushed it off. Yet…a part of me feels grateful. It was almost like having my big brother back–the one I had before I got married to Isaac
I’m still pissed off he fucked up my plan, though. I should’ve known he wasn’t going to let me handle Isaac by myself. But I’m glad he showed Isaac those videos and got me some more time to figure out this whole divorce thing.

“It’s fine, we’re almost there. Stop being a baby,” I snap, immediately regretting my tone. I’m just on edge and have a lot on my mind. Gray’s behind bars partly because of me. Sure, it’s not his first arrest, but what if the cops decide to hurt him!
My phone buzzes for the second time. Logan picks it up from the middle console, glancing at the screen. It’s Niko again. Want me to answer?” he asks.

Unease knots in my gut. I know the guys are probably worried sick, but they’ll understand. Luther’s probably caught them up by now–I just hope he didn’t get harmed in the process. King’s probably losing his mind right now.
Shit. Maybe I should answer….
Suddenly, Logan’s phone rings instead. “Wassup, Niko? Where is Alyssa, you ask?” I can hear the smirk in his voice. “Over here driving like she’s on a goddamn racetrack. Yeah, she’s safe. No, she wasn’t abducted. If anything, the little angel kidnapped me.”
I snort, keeping my eyes on the road. “I didn’t kidnap you.”
“I don’t know. You jumped in the car, told me to get the fuck in, then peeled out. Sounds like kidnapping to me,” he teases Logan listens intently for a moment before responding. Tll let her know. What’s King gonna do? Spank her?”
My body reacts despite the anxiety churning in my gut. Is Niko really telling him that King’s gonna punish me? Am I really getting a spanking?
“Sure,” Logan replies to whatever Niko said. “I’ll keep her safe until you get here” He hangs up, chuckling darkly. “Doesn’t sound like someone’s too happy with you right now.”

Logan laughs again. “Yeals, Niko said that’s what King’s gonna deal with you later fon. Sounds like you’re in for a long night, angel His tone drips with amusement, but there’s a tension in fd voice that suggests he might not find it as funny as he’s lening on. Like he’s jealous or something
No, that can’t be right. He knows we’re just friends.
I glance at Christine in the rearview mirror. She’s staring out the window, her face blank. She hasn’t said much since I told her Gray was arrested, but she insisted on coming along
As we pull into the parking lot across from the jail, Gray is already walking out, rubbing his wrists that likely sore from the night handcuffs. A tall, blonde woman dressed in a brige pantsu and heels is at his side.
“Who the fuck is that?” I accidentally say aloud.
“Their lawyer,” Christine finally speaks up, her tone bitter. “She too flirtatious for my liking. She always acts like a bitch in heat. I’d watch her around King–they seem to have some kind of history or something

Before I can ask anything, she steps out of the car to greet Gray, her movements brisk and purposeful. Her gaze flickers briefly toward the tall blonde, her lips pressing into a thin line, but she doesn’t just blurt out whatever insult she’s thinking of like she usually does.
Hmm. That’s interesting.
I watch the lawyer from the window, noting how perfect her every move is. Of course, King’s fucked her. She’s absolutely gorgeous. Who wouldn’t, if they had the opportunity?
“You okay?” Logan’s voice pulls me back. His hand rests lightly over mine. I nearly flinch at the unexpected contact, but don’t pull away. My mind races a million miles a minute. Today has ended up being an absolute shitshow, and now, I’m in for the punishment of my life.

“Yeah, I’m good. Just processing today,” I mutter.
“If it means anything.” Logan says softly. “I think you were extremely fucking brave today, facing that asshole.”
1 give him a small smile. “Thanks, that does mean a lot. I wasn’t sure if I was going to see you today, but I’m glad you’re here. I needed a friend out there that definitely wasn’t War”
“I wanted to be there for you today,” he says pointedly. “You know, without him.”
The driver’s door suddenly swings open. Gray’s face fills my view, scowling before he says anything. I jump out, throwing my arms around my brother.
I know I wasted my time and earned an unnecessary punishment coming here, but I’m still glad to see he’s okay.
Gray hugs me back tightly, as if he needed it just as badly. “What the fuck were you thinking, Alyssa? Showing up here without King or Niko?”
I nod behind me, where Nina and Thunder are sitting at the edge of the parking lot. “It’s fine, Gray. Logan’s right here, and they were following me the entire time.”
His jaw clenches. “And yet none of them are King and Niko.”

Gray nods as we walk over to where the woman and Christine are standing “Marina, please meet my sister I’ve been telling you about, Alyssa”
The woman’s smile is perfect and professional. “Nice to meet you Alyssa. I’m Marina Moscato. It sounds like we’ll be seeing a lot of each other”
“You’re going to handle my divorce?” I ask, surprised.
She gives me a wink, as though she’s already won. “As long as we play things smart, we’ve got this”
Relief washes over me. Maybe there’s hope. I don’t care about Inc’s money and property–I just want him out of Zuri’s and my life.

It seems seeing Marina has really gotten her panties into a twist. She’s acting bitchier than usual.
“Okay, babe. Give me a minute with Alyssa,” Gray replies.
Christine climbs into my car without protest, while Logan gets out, leaning against the trunk of the car as he silently watches
Gray grips my arm gently, pulling me aside. “Sis, are you okay?” he asks softly.
The weight of the day hits me again all at once. “No, Gray. You got arrested because you punched Isaac. What happened to self–control?
Gray shoves his hands into his pocket. That motherfucker deserved it. I couldn’t help myself. His face instantly darkens. “What the fuck were you thinking. Alyssa? Leaving with him like that?”
“I had a plan,” I argue. “He didn’t know I was armed.”
“And how long do you think you’d live?” His voice rises slightly. I saw the look in his eyes, Alyssa. He would’ve killed you the moment you were alone with him.”
“You don’t know that-”
“Have you ever seen him that angry before?”
I shake my head. “No,” I answer in a small voice.
Gray’s right. Isaac was livid seeing King’s property patch, but that still doesn’t mean I couldn’t have found an opportunity to
kill him.
Gray’s jaw tics, his tone firm and laced with frustration and something else…fear. “And then what was your plan, Alyssa? Shoot him while he was driving? You’d be on a one–way trip to prison. You’d only see King and your daughter behind glass. And that baby? They’d take him or her the second they were born. Is that something you were okay with? Losing your family?” His voice cracks a little, the weight of his emotions seeping through the harsh words, “We don’t survive doing

Gray frowns, pulling me into his arms. I’m sorry. Please don’t cry. King’s got enough to skin me alive for.
The tears finally fall and I sob silently into my brother’s chest. Okay, maybe I was being a little reckless, but after Isaac threatened to hurt everyone 1 love, I needed to stop him any way I could. Gray doesn’t know Isaac the way that I do. Now that Gray has made it known he has videos to blackmail him. Isaac’s going to get payback somehow. He’s going to find a way to destroy the MC once and for all, and who knows the lengths he’ll go to do it.
“You know he’s going to go after all of us now, right?” Task him, shidling.
I hear his molars grind together. “We’ll deal with it.”
Suddenly, the rumble of motorcycles builds in the distance, crashing into the parking lot like a wave. The sound reverberates through my chest like an ominous warning that makes my breath hitch
I feel my stomach drop right into my ass. They’re here. For me.
Gray glances over his shoulder, stiffening. “King looks fucking pissed. Yeah, you’re in trouble, sis.”
My head snaps up from his chest and I catch Logan out of the corner of my eye. He squeezes his eyes shut, and within seconds, his posture shifts. The warmth drains from his expression, replaced by something sharper, colder–something distinctively not Logan. The tension in the air thickens, and that familiar, prickling aura of the asshole I can’t stand creeps back in. War.
Ugh, just great. Is it possible that seeing King triggered the shift: But why? Was Logan worried King was going to hurt him or something and brought out War as a shield?
I really need to ask him when we’re alone again
“Are you going to tell him or am I?” Gray voice snaps me back.
I swallow hard, quickly wiping my eyes. “Tll tell him.”
Reluctantly, I turn to see Gray and Niko dismount from their bikes, their eyes locked on me with a mixture of rage and worry. They move towards us like storm clouds rolling in, their strides heavy and foreboding.
Shit. How am I going to talk myself out of this one?
