Chapter 5
As soon as I walked out of the hospital, Zach caught up with me. His face was, red and he spoke very quickly. “Winona, let’s talk.”
Looking at him panting, I thought of how he used to rush over like this when he was late for a date and then took out a bouquet of flowers from behind.
At that time, he looked at me with such tenderness, but now there was only resentment.
I nodded. “Okay. Let’s go to the coffee shop not far away.”
For hundreds of feet, he held the divorce agreement tightly in his hand without saying a word.”
As soon as we entered the store, he started to order. “Two lattes, thank you. One to go.”
I was stunned. He knew that I was intolerant to caffeine.
“One cup of milk, thank you.”
As soon as I finished speaking, Zach looked up suddenly as if he remembered something. “Sorry, the other one is for Melanie.”
“I remember you can’t drink coffee…” He pursed his lips tightly, with a hint of guilt in his tone.

“About divorce, I hope you can think about it again.”
I took the milk, smiled and shook my head. “I’ve thought it through.
“Before we did the IVF, I never showed you your sperm test report. Now it’s time to show it to you.”
I pushed the report to him, and the abrupt nursery rhyme sounded again.
He closed the report without hesitation, and answered the phone with an extremely gentle and doting voice.
“What’s wrong, Melanie?”
Melanie’s crying on the other end of the phone was piercing. She cried and asked Zach to go back quickly. “Zach, my stomach hurts. It must be that the baby misses his father. Where are you? Come back, the baby and I miss you very much.
Zach’s frown relaxed, and he said as he walked, “Be good, I’ll be back right away. I brought you a latte, but you can only have one sip to satisfy your craving.”
He walked out of the store and then remembered that I, his wife, was sitting in the house.
Zach walked back embarrassedly. In his haste, he accidentally knocked over the cup of latte on the table, and the test report was instantly soaked.

He quickly called the clerk and waved his phone at me. “I’ll call you. Wait for me at home.”
After returning home, I put the dirty medical report and the signed divorce agreement on the dining table, along with my last memory of him, all left in this house.
There were not many things in this house that really belonged to me. I left with only a suitcase.
I hope Zach can still look forward to the birth of Melanie’s child. after reading the report.
