Chapter 41
Because Virgil and Moira were both sober, their senses were heightened during the act, and this time, it lasted even longer than before.
Afterward, Virgil seemed to be in a much better mood. He looked at her flushed face, which was so red it looked like an apple, and at the way she couldn’t meet his eyes because of her embarrassment
Something stirred inside him, and he kissed her forehead gently, his voice still hoarse from their intimacy, as though he were speaking to a child. “Good girl, go wash up. I’ll take you to work tomorrow?
Moira’s head was spinning. She wanted to ask him why he did it, but then reminded herself that he was her husband. It was normal for him to turn to her for these things.
“Do you want to wash up with me?” he asked.
“No… I’ve already washed Moira quickly replied, feeling flustered.
Seeing that he was about to undress, Moira hurried to wash her hands and left the room.
Back in her own room, her face was still burning, as if it might burst into flames. She touched her face, then remembered what her hands had just done.
Feeling disgusted, she washed them again, changed into her pajamas, and was about to settle down to sleep when her phone rang.
It was a call from Zea. She answered it quickly.
“What were you up to just now? I tried calling you a few times and you didn’t pick up.” Zea’s voice came through the phone.
Moira felt a bit guilty. “Nothing… I just went to the kitchen to make a snack.”
“At this hour? Still eating a late–night snack? Aren’t you worried about putting on weight?” Zea teased.
“I was hungry, I didn’t really think about it,” Moira replied quickly. Not wanting Zea to ask more questions, she quickly changed the subject. “Did you need something?
“Wasn’t it you who called me first? I saw your call but missed it, so I called back. When you didn’t pick up, I thought something had happened to you. I almost called the police!”
“I’m fine. I just wanted to thank you,” Moira said, feeling a little sheepish.
“Thank me? What for? You’ve helped me before. We’re good friends, good sisters no need for thank yous, okay?”

There was a brief pause, then Zea’s tone became more serious. “If you keep thanking me, I’ll think you don’t see me as a friend anymore, and then I’ll really be upset.”
A warm feeling spread through Moira’s chest, and she softly said, “Okay…”
“Alright, enough of that. It’s getting late. Get some rest, and we’ll go shopping this weekend,” Zea said cheerfully.
Just as she was about to hang up, Moira stopped her. “Actually, there’s something I want to ask your opinion on.”
“What’s up?” Zea asked.
Moira explained what Baldwin had said to her earlier that afternoon.
Once she finished, Zea spoke without hesitation, “I think it’s a great opportunity. You should definitely take it.”
“But recording a show with a celebrity… What if I mess it up?” Moira said, worried.
“Every opportunity has risks. The bigger the risk, the greater the reward. Like Baldwin said, if you do well, you’ll carve out a place for yourself in the industry. You won’t have to chase clients–people will come to you.
“That kind of reward is something others would work years for and still not get. But now Baldwin’s giving you that chance. Why hesitate? Only a fool would turn down such a good opportunity!”
It was clear that Moira was the fool in this situation.
“But…

Chapter 41
“Moira, you’ve been at Sailing Tech for five years, right? Haven’t those five years taught you that every industry is competitive? For people like us who work for others, we have to focus on making money and seizing every chance to climb the ladder.
“You know the entertainment industry is messy, but so many people still rush in. Why? Because it’s all about the money. And right now, you really need the money, don’t you?”
Zea’s words finally struck a chord with Moira, and she made up her mind.
