Chapter 42
On Friday, Baldwin drove Moira to the Eldoria Broadcasting and Television Building.
Since the contracts for amateur designers were all based on a standard template, Moira quickly flipped through a few pages and signed her name without hesitation.
The program was set to begin recording next Wednesday, and the timeline was tight. On Saturday, Moira picked Jane up from the hospital.
She knew that Jane was now living with Zea, and Jane had arranged for her to rent a one–bedroom apartment in Page’s neighborhood.
The rent was 800 dollars, which was well within her budget. With Page living nearby, Moira felt more at ease. That evening, she took Jane and Page out for a nice meal.
On Sunday, she went shopping with Zea, making the most of her weekend.

Before the Reformers show began recording, the production team organized a welcome dinner for everyone to meet and get acquainted. The venue was set at Carmen’s Kitchen.
Moira arrived at the designated private room half an hour early on Tuesday evening. Soon after, three people–two men and one woman, all fellow amateur designers–arrived.
About forty minutes later, the production team showed up, accompanied by four celebrity designers.
Among the celebrity designers, Moira immediately recognized two of them. One was Lakisha Pollard, a former big star who had once played a famous, beautiful role. She was Jane’s idol, but after getting married, she retired from acting.
The other was Zea’s husband, Benton Richmond, who had become a breakout star the previous year with a hit science fiction film. He was now one of the hottest celebrities in the industry.
Moira hadn’t expected the production team to bring in these two. She had paper and a pen in her bag, wondering if she could get an autograph
later.
After the assistant introduced everyone to the director and the producer, the director glanced around at the group and frowned “Why are we still missing two people? Who hasn’t shown up?”
“They’re on their way. They’re already in the elevator,” the assistant replied.
Just then, the door to the private room opened, and Kayla and Wendy walked in. When Moira saw them, she frowned slightly.
This was Wendy’s first time on the program. She was being excited, only to find Moira sitting there. She immediately tugged at Kayla’s arm and pointed her out.
Kayla saw Moira too, and her expression immediately turned cold.
The production team had gathered around, eating and drinking while chatting and getting to know each other.
Since Kayla’s status as Mitchell Group’s lady had been exposed on X, wherever she went, people treated her like royalty.
Even though she hadn’t had any standout roles, her highly publicized relationship had brought her a lot of attention, landing her top fashion deals. She was now one of the hottest young stars in the entertainment industry.
At that moment, a crowd of people surrounded her, with even Benton joining in, chatting and laughing with her.
The three amateur designers sitting near Moira also lined up to ask for her autograph. But Moira stayed seated, eating and chatting with Zea over “WhatsApp, hoping to quietly get through the evening.
When Austin arrived, Kayla jumped up with a happy squeal and hurried over to him like a little bird.
The air conditioning in the room was set a little too low, and when Austin saw her bare shoulders, he immediately took off his jacket and draped it over her. “Don’t catch a cold.”
Kayla was clearly pleased with Austin’s thoughtfulness. She linked her arm through his, giving everyone a sweet smile as she announced, “Austin says he’s treating tonight, so feel free to order whatever you want!”
When the production team went out for meals, there was usually a spending limit. The director and celebrity designers could order better dishes, while the rest of the team had to stick to more modest choices.
But with someone else picking up the tab, everyone naturally ordered the most expensive items on the menu.

The younger members of the crew, especially, were thrilled, cheering and clapping in excitement.
Under the envious gazes of everyone, Kayla, with her arm around Austin, strutted over to Moira.
When Austin saw Moira, he looked slightly surprised.
Kayla coldly addressed her. “Moira, I don’t work with women who have designs on my boyfriend. So I think it’s best if you leave.”
