A Mystery Chapter 138

Chapter 138

Late at night, Virgil sat up in bed, turned on the light, and picked up his phone to make a call. Bring me a cup of honey water

After hanging up, he got out of bed, grabbed a cigarette and a lighter, and sat down on the couch. He lit the cigarette and inhaled deeply, the smoke swirling around him

There was a restlessness that he couldn’t shake, and his mind kept returning to the intense pleasure of the previous night…

After smoking for a while, Virgil reached for his phone again, opened his contacts, and his finger hovered over Moira’s name. He was about to dial her, but then her voice echoed in his mind: Virgil, I think I like you a little.”

He paused for a moment, and then put the phone down. He crushed the cigarette into the ashtray and decided to take a cold shower to clear his

head

Just then, his phone vibrated

Virgil stopped in his tracks, turned around, and picked up the phone. He glanced at the screen and answered

On the other end, Moira’s gentle, worried voice came through. Virgil, are you still working?”

Virgil remained silent. When she didn’t hear his response, she asked again, Are you coming home tonight!”

The word homeresonated deeply within him, stirring a wave of emotions in his chest

Virgil swallowed hard and hoarsely replied. Are you at home

Yes.Moira paused for a moment before quickly adding, “I moved back from Zen’s place.”

I’m coming back nowVirgil was about to hang up, but Moira quickly asked, Have you been drinking!”

She knew Virgil sometimes had latenight business events, and she was worried about him driving under the influence. If you’ve been drinking, don’t drive Just tell me the address, and I’ll come pick you up

Allough Moira didn’t own a car, she had a driver’s license. She had driven Austin home my times after his latenight business events

Virgil was momentarily taken aback. It was the first time someone Bad cared for him like this, and that person was his wife

The feeling wasn’t bad

He couldn’t help but smile slightly, his lips curling up as he replied. I haven’t been drinking

Then drive safely, Moira said

OkayAfter hanging up. Virgil changed his clothes, grabbed his car keys, and hurriedly headed for the door

Just as Anne was bringing up a cup of honey water, she saw Virgil coming downstairs and quickly asked, Mr. Adams, it’s so late. Where are you going?”

Virgil didn’t respond. He simply walked past Anne and left the villa

Once Moira set her phone down, sleep eluded her. She just couldn’t shake the feeling of unease

It was solare

She got up and walked over to the floortoceiling window, staring out into the night for what seemed like an eternity. She knew from this high up. there was nothing to see, but still, her gaze remained fixed on the narrow gap between the two buildings

Shen’t sure how long she stood there, but eventually, the sound of a door opening reached her ears. The soundproofing in her room was excellent, but in the stillness of the night, even the slightest noise seemed amplified

Moira immediately opened her bedroom door

Virgil walked in from the foyer. Their eyes met, and she smiled faintly. You’re back”

Her voice, soft and warm, carried a note of joy and shyness she hadn’t even realized she was feeling

Virgil looked at her eyes, unable to hide the happiness she felt. Any frustration in his heart seemed to melt away in that moment, leaving him calm and composed

She had washed her hair earlier, and it was soft and voluminous, silky to the touch. It felt so smooth beneath his hard

Virgil, holding back the urge to touch her hair again, spoke gently and steadily. It’s getting late. You should rest.”

With that, he turned and headed back to his own room
