Chapter 22

We eventually made our way out to eat lunch. I started to pay attention to the décor. The rest of the parkhouse was a 180 from the pristine foyer. The carpet that lined the floors was tan with specks of blue and dark brown. The walls were painted light blue–gray and covered with pictures of past members and different events they had. There was a very homey feel to the house, like the type of place you could walk in and put your feet on the couch without worrying about damaging anything

The kitchen was large with stainless steel appliances. It would be a chef’s dream kitchens was all I could think. Off to the right were double–revolving doors that led to a mom with a large rectangular table in it. Alpha Paul, Luna Autumn, and Kelly were already sitting at the table.

“Kelly?” I asked, stunned.

“Hey girl!

It never did get around to telling you I am the alpha’s daughter!”

“I guess I should have connected the dots from last night, but I was a little distracted,” I said, glanting over at Zach and Brooke who were just smirking

I nodded at the alpha and luna and sat down on the other side of Zach. There was an open seat next to Kelly Before I could ask who it was for, the most mouthwatering guy came strutting through the doors and sat down. He was what you would call nelly handsome. A five o’clock shadow covered his square jaw, and he had dark brown, almost black hair, just long enough to run your fingers through it. His golden brown eyes zeroed in on me as he sat down. His black t–shirt hugged every muscle, and all I wanted to do was lick every one of them. Before my arousal got out of hand and everyone could smell it, I straightened up in my chair and avoided eye contact, looking straight at my plate.

“Who is this?” the sexy man said in the deepest voice.

“Wyatt, this is our new friend Nina. Zach is her friend that went to the club with us last night, and then we found out Zach is mated to Brooke! Guys, this is my brother, Wyatt, Kelly said smiling. By the look in her eyes, I could tell she knew how Wyatt appealed to me. I just give her an empty look.

Wyatt’s eyes switched from Brooke to Zach. Zach held his gaze and didn’t let go. I felt it was more half respect and half of a challenge. Zach had no intention of looking weak in front of his possible new future alpha. Finally, Wyatt’s eyes landed on me, and I could see him look me up and down at what was visible. Although I was wearing a 1–shirt, it was obvious I was not small breasted. This time, I held his gaze with an unimpressed one of my own. I was not going to let him see how he affected mr.

Thankfully, girls started bringing in lunch and I was able to look away and let out the breath I didn’t realize I was holding. It was a simple lunch of cold–cut sandwiches, chicken Ceaser salad, and a variety of fruits and veggies. There were three different side salads of noodles of some sort.

“Nina, is it? How long are you staying here for?” Wyatt asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence,

“I agreed to stay the week.”

“I must assist your stay here for that week then,” Wyatt said smirking.

“That was decided already, and she will be moving into a guest room until she decides if she is going to become a member or move on,” Alpha Paul stated, and left no room for arguments,

“Become a member?” Wyatt asked curiously.

I have not decided on my future. As my travel buddy has mated with your sister, apparently my plans are in need of changing. Now, if you please excuse us, Zach and I need to go back up to our hotel room since we will be moving here.” I didn’t leave room for arguments as I grabbed the cuff of Zach’s shirt and pulled him with me out the door. Brooke and Kelly followed.

“That was amazing” Kelly squealed. “I have been waiting for someone to put him in his place for a while now,”

“Ugh, he just got under my skin for some reason. Would you mind giving us a ride since my car is still being fixed?” I asked Kelly.

“Of counet I will get the Jeep Wrangler. I took the roof off, and since it is such a nice day, I want to feel the wind in my hair.”

Walking to the garage, I spotted a bright yellow and black Jeep. I already loved this thing! I hopped right into the front, making Brooke and Zach get into the back. Zach grabbed Brooke by the waist and tossed her in. She gave him an amused look, and we busted out laughing. Kelly started up the leep and was backing out when I felt like someone was watching me. Still grinning, I looked around and saw Wyatt standing at the garage entrance watching us. Giving hins a wink and flirty smile, I turned toward Kelly and told her to hit it.

I reached for the aux coed and plugged my phone in. 1 found some tunes that we could belt out and sing! This was great, I could get used to this. Kelly was starting to become a good friend. By the time we made it to the cabins, my voice was hoarse from singing. We slid up to the front doors singing “Man, I Feel Like a Woman.”

“Thank the Moon Goddess we are here,” Zach said as he jumped out of the Jeep

“Oh, come on, baby! You know you enjoyed that!” Brooke said as he lifted her out of the feep, giving her a quick peck on the cheek.

“1. could have gone without that song, whatever Barbie girl song was on, and a few others,” Zach mumbled as we made our way to the cabin. We all started belting out different songs to annoy him just a little bit more. Zach quickly unlocked the door and threw Kelly and I into my room and slammed the door. We heard Brooke’s squeals and his door shut.

“I take it we might be in here for a little bit,” Kelly said, laughing

“Most likely,” I said, smiling. It was glad Zach was mated to someone like Brooke.

“So, how long are you going to wait before you ask me about Wyatt?” Kelly said as she lopped down on the bed. She gave me a look that said, “I dare you to deny

I just rolled my eyes at her. “I have no idea what you mean. He probably has enough girls hanging off his arm that I don’t mean anything to that man.”

“Already jealous then I see. Well, Wyatt doesn’t really date, but he does know his way around the ladies. But don’t let that stop you! I feel like you might be able to tame him some.”

“Oh?” I said, raising my eyebrow at her and placed my hand on my hip.

“How old will be be on Friday?”

“Eighteen.”

I was quiet after that for a second. I knew firsthand things didn’t always go according to plan. “Well, I guess I will find out Friday if I am destined to be tormented by him for the rest of my life.”
