The next day, Jake flew back home. But he kept his word, he flew only to Paris. And every week, he stood in front of my place, all night long. And I never opened the door.
My life in Paris was going great, I had my scuba license, my flying license, and the skydiving license. I was hiking in the Alps, and scuba diving in the Mississippi River.
I got the award at the end of the year, and got a promotion. And so, all those things we talked about I did them.
Meanwhile, there were men both Americans and
Europeans that were chasing me. But I didn’t give them a chance, I had a hole in my heart, and the first priority was my career.
It went on for a long time, and Jake, he just
kept on standing outside my door every time he
was there.
Then one day, Jake stopped. For two years, I
heard nothing about him.
