I turned around and left, feeling an overwhelming sense of relief. I had finally escaped the
terrifying fate of my past life, and everything was no longer my concern now.
Upon hearing my words, Susan no longer cared about the injuries on her face. She grabbed
Yohan’s hand, saying, “Yohan, what should we do? Think of a way now.”
Yohan’s mind was in a complete mess at the moment, and he had no idea what to do.
What could they do? Running away wasn’t an option, was it?
The key to this matter still lay with Donna on the hospital bed. As long as she didn’t pursue
the matter, everything would be fine.
Yohan immediately rushed to Donna’s bedside. “Mom, don’t blame Susan. It has nothing to
do with her. It’s all Violet’s fault.”
This time, Susan sincerely pleaded, “Mrs. Donna Coleman, please forgive me. I was wrong.
Mrs. Donna Coleman, you’ve watched me grow up. I was wrong.”
No matter how much they pleaded now, it was all in vain.
The two had gone too far just now, and Donna’s heart was completely broken. Tears
streamed continuously from her exposed eyes.
“Will you be satisfied only when you kill your mother?” A shout was heard.
Just as Susan and Yohan were pleading non–stop, Yohan was suddenly kicked in the back.
He looked up and saw Wesley standing in front of him, fuming with anger.
To prevent any accidents, I called Wesley as well. Now, Susan and Yohan really couldn’t
escape.
Yohan said, “Dad, it was just an accident. Susan is innocent.”
Wesley had just gone to check on Donna’s injuries. Several pieces of flesh had been bitten off by that vicious dog, and she had lost several fingers. She would need to undergo several surgeries to recover.
Now, the main culprits were right in front of him, but Yohan was still speaking up for an
outsider.
Wesley was furious. “The police will make their judgment. The most important thing right now is your mother.”

Susan was crying even more pitifully than Donna, the patient. “Mr. Wesley Coleman, I’m s sorry. I don’t know why this thing happened. I specifically asked Violet to feed my dog. I have no idea why Mrs. Donna Coleman got hurt.”

Wesley snorted and didn’t say anything.
Realizing that her act wasn’t working on Wesley, Susan knew that staying here was useless and thought she might as well go home and think of a way.
She said in tears, “Mr. Wesley Coleman, Mrs. Donna Coleman, I know you don’t want to see
me right now. It’s my fault, and I will atone for my sins.”
With that, Susan quickly ran out, crying.
Yohan looked at her back, worried. “Dad, it has something to do with Violet. Susan wasn’t even at home. How could she know the dog would bite?”
“You fool, you’re blinded by love. She’s the one who raised the dog. If she couldn’t control it
and it bit someone, who else should I blame?” said Wesley in anger.
The more Wesley said this, the more Yohan felt sorry for Susan. Without thinking, Yohan said, “Susan was raised under your watch. Now that Mom is like this, do you want her to pay with her
fe?”
With that, Yohan rushed out of the ward, chasing after Susan.
Susan deliberately slowed down so that Yohan could catch up.
The two hugged at the hospital entrance. Susan cried and struggled in his arms, saying, “Yohan, let me go. I’m so sorry to Mrs. Donna Coleman. I’ll pay her with my life.”
Hearing her say this, Yohan felt his heart ache. He was afraid Susan would do something extreme. “No, Susan. Don’t say that. It was an accident. None of us wanted this thing to happen.”
Susan said, “But the police will find out sooner or later. I… I might as well just die.”
“No, there must be a way. I’ll go persuade my mom. She will forgive you. I’m their only son. They’ll surely listen to me,” said Yohan.
Susan nodded, saying, “Yohan, if Mrs. Donna Coleman can forgive me, we can be together without any worries.”
Hearing this, Yohan was immediately filled with determination. He slapped his chest, promising that he would find a way.
After watching their performance from the corner, I almost burst out laughing. I clapped my hands, then turned around to go back and pack my things.
