A witch’s contract I sighed and shifted to my back on his big bed, my gaze moving towards the ceiling.
He was an Alpha King- -no- – -a Hybrid, and he wanted me to make a witch’s contract with him..
That was so unexpected
A witch’s contract was a contract that bound souls with the promise. Maximus and I would cut our palms and join our bloods, then a witch would cast a spell on that blood before making us drink one sap of it
The blood would turn to poison, like a ticking time bomb on hold.
If either of us went against the terms we had decided on paper, the poison would spread in our veins, and the one who broke the contract would die inevitably.
Last night, when Maximus brought this up. I couldn’t even say anything to him. He didn’t push me and left the room, allowing me to rest in his bed

What would I gain in this contran? I wondered for the nth time.
Maximus wouldn’t mark me. And he wouldn’t openly acknowledge me as his mate.
But according to the conditions, he would have to get me my Pack back. And wouldn’t ask me to reject Aiden.
If I was right, Aiden wouldn’t reject me either. Even if he was an idiot, he did care about the prophecy.
So, where did this whole arrangement leave all of us!
Emily would remain Aiden’s mistress. I would become Maximus mistress
Aiden and I both, would suffer the consequences of cheating on each other.
But I would not have to suffer by Aiden’s side or deal with Emily and her family. I would just take over my Pack and stay a bitch to Maximus.
I rubbed my temples. A headache was already starting to bother me.

It was decided that I would never find peace, so wasn’t it better to choose a way in which I would get the surety of my Pack’s return to me?
I rose from the bed and walked towards the bathroom, I washed up quickly and dressed up in one of Maximus soft black T–shirts and grey joggers.
The clothes were too big on me, but I preferred stumbling over them instead of walking around here with bare legs on display.

After I was done making a bun of my hair, I rushed out of Maximus room and approached his office.

I would never really expose Maximus, and he didn’t really want to spend a happy life with me, so it was not a problem for me to be bound to him.
I knocked on the door to his office and entered after a moment’s delay. My breath hitched as the familiar scent of pinewood hit my nostrils.
* Zia. “Aiden’s started voice filled the space before I was engulfed by a pair of strong arms. I was worried sick. I felt it through the bond that you were hurt, but I was stuck. I came running back as soon as I got Emily back in the Pack.”
My chest tightened. From over his shoulder, I saw Maximus sitting on his seat, his eyes dark and his jaw ticking dangerously.
“Aiden. “I whispered, trying to shake him off
No, just let me make sure you are alright. Do you have any idea what I would have gone through if Uncle Maximus hadn’t gotten to you in time?” He hased, tightening the embrace of his arms around me.
Even now, he was worried about what he would have gone through if something had happened to me.
