Chapter 131
Virgil said. “I give you a ride later.”
He got out of bed, picked up the bathrobe from the floor, draped it over his shoulders, and walked into the bathroom.
As soon as the bathroom door closed, the sound of running water quickly followed.
Moira hurriedly threw off the covers and got out of bed. Her legs felt weak, and she almost collapsed back onto the bed.
Worried that Virgil might come out of the bathroom at any moment, she gritted her teeth and picked up the torn nightgown from the floor. It was beyond repair, so she couldn’t wear it anymore. Even if there was no one else in the house, she didn’t want to walk around naked.
She made her way to the bathroom door and gently knocked.
The sound of water stopped for a moment, and Virgil’s calm voice came from inside. “What’s up?”
“Could I borrow one of your shirts! My nightgown… you kind of tore it, she said.
There was a brief pause, then Virgil replied, “Sure”
Moira quickly grabbed a white shirt from the wardrobe and put it on before heading back to her room.
She had planned to take a shower, but then remembered something. She rushed to the drawer, pulled out a bottle of birth control pills she had bought a while ago, and had taken only once before. After filling a glass of water, she swallowed the pill, feeling a bit more at case before going to freshen up.
The bathroom had a large mirror, and as she looked at her body, she was shocked by the painful marks left behind.
Moira sucked in a sharp breath, feeling a deep discomfort in her body. But knowing she had to go to work, she quickly took a shower, using some leftover ointment from before.
Her head felt a litle beavy–maybe from lack of sleep.
After drying her hair, Moira opened the bathroom door, intending to check the time on her phone. But instead, she saw Virgil standing by the nightstand
He had heard the sound of the door and lifted his gaze to look at her intently,
Moira froze, and soon noticed that Virgil was holding a small white bottle. It was the same boule she had forgotten to put away after taking her pill. The words “Birth Control Pills were clearly visible on the label.
Her face shifted, and she hurriedly explained. “Uh… don’t get the wrong idea. It’s not that I don’t want to have children. It’s just that we haven’t known each other for long, and it doesn’t feel like the right time for a baby.”
Virgil gave a soft “Mm,” placed the bottle back where it was, and then said, “I bought breakfast. Let’s go out and grab something to cat
With that, he turned and walked toward the door.
Moira suddenly felt a flutter of nervousness. Without thinking, she hurriedly caught up with Virgil and grabbed his arm from behind, sying. “Virgil, please don’t be angry..”
Virgil stopped and turned to look at her.
“Actually, I really do want a baby too. Let’s get to know each other better, and when you’re ready for a child, Til stop taking the pill. Is that Okay!” Mnira looked up at him, her eyes full of unmasked uncertainty and anxiety,
Although Virgil wasn’t ready to have a child just yet, seeing the birth control pills still left a sour taste in his mouth. But hearing her say she wanted to have a child with him softened something in him. The corner of his lips curled slightly as he reached out to touch her head. “Don’t worry. I’m
Moira felt a sudden wave of relief. Her cars and cheeks flushed red, and she withdrew her hand.
She added, “But taking those pills probably isn’t very good for health.
Moira had planned to suggest that they use condoms in the future, but Virgil spoke up first. “This is my fault for not being prepared”
Moira’s face turned even redder as she lowered her head, her voice barely above a whisper. It’s not your fault. It was my surprise attack… you weren’t ready. I should be the one to blame.
