Chapter 139
Virgil didn’t close the door.
Moira returned to her room, placed the suit back in the shopping bag, and lightly knocked on the door.
Although Virgil knew she would come, when he heard the knock, his lips involuntarily curved slightly. His voice remained calm and steady as he said. “Come in”
Moira entered and saw him holding a book. When he looked up at her, his eyes were darker than before–silent, yet intense
That look was all too familiar
Moira stopped in her tracks, hesitating to move any closer.
Virgil, without changing his expression, casually glanced at the shopping bag in her hand and asked in a neutral tone, “What’s up?”
*I— I was out shopping with Zea earlier and saw this suit that would look great on you, so I bought it for you to try on,” Moira said, her face flushing red. She lowered her gaze, unable to meet Virgil’s intense stare.
Virgil set the book down and stood up “Hand it over.”
Moira walked over and handed firm the shopping bag
Suddenly, she noticed that he was wearing a different outfit than earlier. “Did you change your clothes” she asked. She also caught the faint scent of tobacco mixed with something subtle and fresh
Virgil paused as he reached for the suit, subtly glancing at her before responding with a nonchalant nod.
He added, “Spilled coffee on myself, so I changed”
Moira didn’t think much of it. Nodding, she said, “Oh.. Should 1 step outside while you change, and then come in once you’re done?
Though they had already shared intimate moments, she still felt shy about watching him change clothes.
“Stay here. I’ll change in the bathroom, Virgil said
Moira was confident in her taste, but when she actually saw Virgil walk out of the bathroom wearing t
He looked effortlessly handsome, the suit fitting him as if it had been tailor–made
the suit she had picked out, she was stunned.
Moira’s eyes lit up, and she smiled widely. She walked around him, giving him a once–over before saying. It looks great”
Virgil, seeing her pleased expression, gave a faint smile in return. “I really like it.”
Hearing Virgil say he liked the gift made Moira feel like the money was well spent
She carefully checked every inch of the outfit, smoothing out any wrinkles she found. Once she was satisfied that everything was perfect, she grabbed a pair of scissors, cut off the tags, and tossed them into the trash.
When she was done, Moira glanced at the time and said, “You should get some rest. I’ll head home now.”
She turned to leave, but Virgil suddenly grabbed her hand, spun her around, and the shadows of the room engulfed her. Holding her, chin, he leaned in and kissed her forcefully.
“Moira’s eyes widened in surprise. After a brief pause, she began to struggle, but her resistance was weak–she wasn’t as opposed to intimacy as she once had been, Reluctantly, she half–pushed, half–gave in, and was soon pressed onto the bed
Since they had only been intimate the day before, Moira’s body still hadn’t fully recovered. Virgil noticed her stiffness and didn’t push further. “I’m going to take a shower,” he said.
Moira gazed up at his handsome face, her vision blurred with tears. She saw the veins in his forehead, his skin glistening with sweat, his features drawn tight with discomfort.
Her heart ached at the sight, and she reached up, draping her bare arms around his neck. She leaned in, kissing him sofily and murmuring, Tm
Virgil felt the closeness only make it worse, but he managed to keep his comp
