Jason felt Lindsay had gone too far. She
wasn’t the woman he knew.
She used to be so understanding, kind, and
lovely. Perfect in every way.
But lately, she’d become cruel and
manipulative.
He wanted to teach her a lesson.
But since the reunion, Lindsay seemed to not
care anymore. She even let Tiffany sleep with
him without a fight.
Before, she would have made a huge scene,
creating absolute chaos.
These past few days, he’d felt inexplicably
anxious and uneasy.
He planned to apologize to Lindsay the next
day. He wanted to tell her he slept on the
floor, that nothing happened between him and
Tiffany.
But that morning, he saw Lindsay push
Tiffany to the ground because of the jade
pendant.
Broken glass everywhere, Tiffany crying. He
knew what had happened.
He hated this vicious, domineering Lindsay.
He angrily shoved her, unintentionally hurting
her.
He felt a pang of guilt, but he feared she’d
hurt someone else if he showed weakness. So
he held back.
That night, he couldn’t shake the worry. He
went back, under the guise of getting a shirt,
to check on Lindsay’s injury.
He found her packing. She was cold, distant.
No remorse, just another one of her “running
away” acts.
Jason knew Lindsay had no family; where else
could she go? It was all for show.
He forgot why he came home and stormed
out.
But he didn’t expect Lindsay to skip the
family dinner the next day.
