I woke up in an old shack, tied up.
Dave sat there, glaring at me.
When he saw I was awake, he sneered:
“Sue, I’ve been putting up with you for years,
but you’ve gone too far. Today, I’m going to
teach you a lesson!”
I was stunned that he saw my support and
advice as abuse.
“What do you want?”
I asked calmly, sliding my hand into my
pocket.
My phone was gone, but luckily, I still had my
Bluetooth headphones.
I held down the call button to dial the last
number.
I’d just spoken to Leo before coming here.
“I can hear a train and I’m in a shack. Where
did you bring me?”
I was trying to give out a lot of info.
Dave laughed.
“Don’t try to stall. We’re in the middle of
nowhere. No one can hear you scream.”
“You’re going to pay for what you did to
Amber.”
“It will all be because of you.‘
He lunged at me with a knife.
