“Why were you trying to interrupt my meeting
with a client?”
I cornered Amber in the break room as she
tried to run.
“Sue, I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to… I didn’t
know…”
Amber grabbed my hands, looking pathetic.
I backed away.
“What do we use meeting rooms for? You
didn’t know?
“What’s the new act? A damsel in distress?”
“That would make sense, considering you
don’t even have to act.”
“You… you…
وو
Amber couldn’t come up with a comeback
and started crying.
Tommy stepped in to rescue her:
“Sue, why are you talking to her like that?”
I smiled.
“I can say whatever I want, that is within my
right.”
“Against me, you are nothing”
“Some sidekicks should focus on improving
themselves, instead of hiding behind Amber,
trying to mess up the deal.”

Tommy must have put Amber up to this.
He knew I had a lot of big clients, and if he
sabotaged my deals, he’d probably get them.
He needed the business to make partner.
Watching Amber and Tommy walk away, I
started thinking.
They wouldn’t stop with one try.
What were they planning to do next?
