Chapter 25 Still Playing The Victim

Tears slid down Nadine’s cheeks, her expression pitiful and innocent. “Julius, how could I possibly do such a thing!” She sniffled. “It was my best friend who saw Jemima at the hotel… She witnessed her going into a room. And before slie even stepped inside, a bunch of men had already gone in! One of them was a notorious playboy, even known to be diseased!”
*I didn’t want to say anything,” she continued, her voice shaking with faux sincerity, “but she forced my hand carlier.
“In love, there’s no such thing as first come, first served,” Nadine said, her voice turning more confident. “What does marriage even mean if there’s no affection left? Julius and I are meant to be together–we are real love! She’s the intruder! She should just step aside!”
Her twisted logic disgusted almost everyone. Especially the women in the room. Many had dealt with mistresses before, and they hated Nadine’s audacity. Some wanted to spit at her on the spot.
But no one dared offend the Goodwin family, so they held their tongues
Julius expression was cold, unyielding, “Can you take responsibility for what you just said?” Of course, he was asking about her claim that she hadn’t set Jemima up
“I swear!” Nadine declared. “I solemnly swear! If I’m lying, may I suffer a cruel fate!” She spoke with such conviction that it seemed nothing could shake her.
She smirked at Jemima, smug in her victory.
You don’t have proof. If you did, you would’ve used it by now. Besides, you can’t even get into contact with those guys. There’s no way you can track them down note! Julius might be furious now, but once he cools down, he’ll still be mine. Did you think he’d want you back! I’ve already won.
The crowd wavered for a moment,
Tahlia stepped forward, cussing Jemima out.
But Jemima remained eerily calm.
Once everyone had finished speaking, she stepped into the center of the banquet hall, her eyes locking onto Nadine. “Suffer a cruel fate, you say?”
Shaking her head, she added, “You really aren’t afraid of karma, are you?”
Then, with deliberate movements, she pulled out her phone from her bag and tapped the screen a few times. A moment Later, the entire hall was filled with Nadine’s own voice.
“Julius didn’t want to take your call. Do you fancy the strong men I arranged for you? Let me tell you a secret–not only are they sadistic, but one of them even has AIDS. I’ll inject you with some virus to make things a bit more exciting. How does that
sound?”
“Tomorrow, the thrilling footage of your wild night with eight men will be uploaded online, Oh, and to celebrate, Julius and I will be announcing our engagement tomorrow evening. Running to the cops out of spite won’t do you any good. In Yhuwell, crushing you is as effortless for our families as stepping on an ant.”
“I took your man, stole your career, and yet, my future is still filled with happiness and success. I’ll grow old in love with Julius. As for you, you’ll just wither away in misery… Hahaha!”
A chilling, deranged laughter echoed through the hall.
The Goodwin family quickly sent someone to grab Jemima’s phone. But before they could get their hands on it, a young male guest swiftly stepped in to block them
This was outrageous!
A suffocating silence fell over the banquet hall.
Most of the guests were utterly stunned, disgusted by the sheer cruelty and shamelessness of Nadine’s actions. As a result.. their collective disdain extended to Julius and Amanda as well.

Nadine’s Face had drained of all color. Seeing the way Julius was looking at her, as if he wanted to tear her apart, terror gripped her lira pant, the darted behind her two older brothers for protection.
She never expected Jemima to have recorded the conversation. At that moment, her mind went completely blank.
#that most Julius doesn’t want me note!
Then, as it grasping at her last chance, she suddenly pointed at Amanda and shouted, “It was Mrs. Stahl! She made me do it!”
Everyone the except Jemima was stunned.
Another boombshell had just dropped.
Meanwhile, at a Cyndorian restaurant in the Peninsula Hotel, Scott had finished his meal but didn’t leave immediately. hustead he sat there, absorbed in his phone.
For a long time, he remained engrossed, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. His rich, deep voice carried a low chuckle. “She’s got some nerve, doesn’t she?”
tanding beside him, Zander glanced at the screen, then gave an honest evaluation. “This is better than a TV drama. Jemima’s
guts, and she knows exactly what she’s doing.”
Scon’s tone was relaxed. “Most people just act in dramas. She’s actually living it.”
After a moment, he put his phone away and got up.
Inside the elevator, Zander had already pressed the button for the basement level when Scott suddenly asked, “It’s quite the spectacle. Don’t you want to see it unfold in person!”
Zander blinked “Well, yes.”
It wasn’t like he had a choice.
Back at the banquet hall, Amanda stared at Nadine in shock, disbelief written all over her face.
