Chapter 38 Just A Pawn
Jemima, on the other hand, found this girl to be quite endearing.

Both parties are single. Mr. Sterling and Ms. Atkins aren’t a couple as far as I’m aware, so what’s terong with her making a bold move!
However, disappointment was Willow’s inevitable fate.
Meanwhile, Naomi was brought over by two female attendants.
She had slept, but she didn’t seem any more sober than before,
When they were about to disembark from the yacht, Jemima and Zander didn’t dare to act recklessly. They were afraid that Naomi might accuse them of inappropriate behavior again. Their eyes were fixed on Scott, pleading for him to assist her
instead
The two shared an unspoken understanding and disembarked from the ship first, leaving Scott dumbfounded.
Naomi took the initiative to approach him, leaning on his arm and acting as if she would faint if he didn’t support her.
It was impossible for Scott to leave the general manager of the branch office behind in front of everyone. Therefore, he had no choice but to assist Naomi in disembarking the yacht.
Back at the marina, the chauffeur had already opened the car door for him.
“Where’s your car?” Scott adjusted the woman leaning heavily on his arm.
“I don’t know.” Naomi shook her head, eyes closed, and leaned back into his arms.
Scott firmly held her by the shoulders, preventing her from having her way. “We’re going different ways. You can either call for a designated driver or take a taxi home by yourself.”
Jemima and Zander were shocked by the remark
Isn’t he going to drop her off? This is pretty cruel, isn’t it?
In her mind, Jemima silently added, They even kissed just now.
Scott furrowed his brows and glared at them. “Don’t just stand theres hail her a cab!”
Jemima and Zander quickly pulled out their smartphones, heads bowed as they swiftly opened their ride–hailing apps. Their fingers flew across thepereens as swiftly as they could.
Unable to contain herself, Jemima lifted her head. “Mr. Sterling, I think it’s quite unsafe for Ms. Atkins to go home alone in such a drunken state. Perhaps, we should take her to a hotel instead.”
“Heh, you sure know how to give advice,” Scott scoffed.
Jemima was left speechless.
But it’s really unsafe.
After a few seconds of silence, Scott said, “Since you came up with the idea, you’re in charge of it once we g

A tingling sensation washed over Jemima’s scalp.
“I’ll take a taxi home!” she quickly declared.

“It would be better if I did it instead of you.” Without further ado, Zander pulled her along, ushered her into the passenger seat, shut the door behind her, and then slipped away.
Another curse word was forcefully swallowed back by Jemima
She buckled her seatbelt in resignation, casting a glance at the rearview mirror. Scott’s profile was stern, the atmosphere heavy with tension.
With that, the car departed from the marina.
During the journey, the silence was deafening.
Jemima no longer looked into the rearview mirror, her focus was solely on the road ahead.
In the backseat, Naomi, who had been laying down, sat up. She swayed dizzily from side to side.
As the car descended from the bridge and veered onto the right lane, she drifted toward Scott’s lap like a falling leaf.
However, a long arm blocked the falling body.
“Naomi, I know you’re not drunk, stop
Scout’s patience had run out.
Naomi opened her eyes, her gaze clear and resentful as she stared at him. “Why must you be like this?”
Scott said, “I should be the one saying that. Either sit down properly or get out!”
His tone was icy, carrying an intimidating aura, for he was genuinely angry.
The driver up front dared not even breathe too heavily.
Unable to resist, Jemima sneakily glanced into the rearview mirror.
Naomi was seen stubbornly widening her mist–filled eyes, striving to stop the tears from falling.
“Stop the car!” she suddenly screamed.
Naturally, the driver didn’t stop. He only took orders from Scott,
Worried that her agitated state might cause her to act impulsively and jump out of the car, Jemima hastily instructed the driver to lock the car doors.
Sure enough, in the next second, Naomi tried to open the car door, but luckily it had been locked in advance.
Even though Naomi exhibited such a risky behavior as opening the car door, Scott couldn’t be bothered. It was as if he wouldn’t stop her even if she was trying to kill herself.
“Do you hate me that much…”
Naomi was devastated.
She drew her knees up to her chest, burying her face in them as she was consumed by overwhelming sorrow,
Upon hearing her sobs, Jemima was reminded of her own heartbreak. She sighed inwardly, quietly passing a tissue to the girl behind her…
