Chapter 53 He Admitted It
Scott immediately had someone bring over a laptop.
Daryl’s face was as pale as a corpse. His emotional defenses crumbled rapidly.

The computer was quickly brought over. Jemima logged into her cloud account, her eyes flickering with confidence as she tapped the screen.
“Got it.” She lifted her gaze to Daryl, a slow, knowing smile spreading across her lips as she pointed at the laptop.
“Don’t play it!” Daryl lunged forward, snatching the laptop from behind and clutching it tightly to his chest. “Ms. Willis,” he said, his voice suddenly syrupy, “let’s talk this through calmly, shall we?”
Jemima let out a cold, mocking laugh. “You fantasized about violating me. You even thought of keeping me captive for god knows how long. If I hadn’t risked my life jumping into the sea from the second floor, do you think I’d still be standing here?”
“You misunderstood me-
Enough with the nonsense! If you’ve got the guts, open the laptop and let everyone hear it!”
“Ms. Willis, I have elders to support and children to feed. Please, show me some mercy. I’ll kneel down and apologize to you, all right?”
“Mercy?” Jemima’s voice was like ice. “Did you ever think about sparing me? I’m my parents only daughter. If they knew I was nearly defiled by a disgusting, shameless old b’stard like you, do you think they’d just let it go!”
The more she spoke, the more her fury burned. She commanded someone to snatch the laptop from him.
Daryl, backed into a corner, clutched the device even tighter and shouted, “I was only trying to save you! I admit I said some inappropriate things, but it was all just a joke! A momentary lapse in judgment, that’s all!”
“Drop dead, you se mbag!” Jemima snapped. “Forgive you? Sure–if you castrate yourself right now. Let’s see you become a eunuch!TM
“Jemima! Don’t you think you’re being a little unreasonable?” Daryl’s voice cracked. “Nothing actually happened between us! I just happened to be passing by and helped you out. So what if I said a few things I shouldn’t have? Is it a crime to speak without thinking?”
“Did you or did you not touch my leg?”
“I was just checking to see if you were injured!”
The two were lacked in a fierce verbal battle. Just as everyone was beginning to comprehend just how fiery Jemima could get. they were stunned by the realization–Daryl had just admitted it.
Not only had he been in that room, but he had indeed touched her.
A wave of disgust swept through the room as everyone turned to glare at him.
Naomi stood frozen, her mind in turmoil. She hadn’t expected the accusations against Daryl to be true.
On the other end of the phone, Isaiah let out a cold huff. His voice, deep and commanding, rang out through the room. “It seems the truth is already quite clear. Scott, handle this properly. Report it to the police if necessary–deal with what needs be dealt with. No need for leniency”
Isaiah had spoken. Everything was settled.
Daryl collapsed to the floor, his body drained of all strength.
On the phone, Isaiah spoke again, this time directly addressing Jemima. “Ms. Willis, you are very brave.”
A knowing smile played on his lips. He had figured out that she never actually left a voice recorder behind. She had been bluffing the entire time.
But she was brilliant. She had carefully orchestrated every step, manipulating emotions with precision. She was brave, sharp. and methodical in her approach–a rare talent indeed.

“Thank you for the compliment, Mr. Isaiah.” Jemima replied, her tone calm yet full of confidence.
Isaiah chuckled. “Ms. Willis, welcome to Zenith Group.”
And with that, the call abruptly ended.
The Chairman himself had personally welcomed her. The weight of it was overwhelming.
Jemima felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. Her head swam, the world around her growing distant, the sounds blurring into a faint hum.
Feeling faint, it seemed as though she was really floating, light as a feather. The scenes before her eyes and the sounds around her were gradually becoming distant and hazy.
Scott, noticing her sudden pallor, leaned in. “What’s wrong?”
Thud!
Her head crashed onto the table.
Scott’s reflexes were quick–he reached out, catching her head just before it hit the hard surface. His knuckles absorbed the impact, pressing against the table.
He hesitated for a split second, cradling her face gently in his hands. She had fainted.
Jemima had arrived at the factory already exhausted, yet she had still mustered enough strength to battle Daryl with everything she had. But now, with the tension gone, her body had finally given out.
In her unconscious state, she felt herself sinking into a warm embrace. A familiar scent surrounded her–rich mahogany and something soothingly familiar. She wanted to melt into it, to hide, to let her guard down and just be a vulnerable little girl for
once.
But then, in the haze of her mind, she heard a deep, familiar voice whisper against her ear. “Jemima, Honey…”
Julius? No, no, no, it must be an illusion. A terrifying… illusion.
It was three in the morning.
At the best private hospital in Solvenzia, the hospital room was a luxurious as a five–star hotel. Jemima lay in bed, fast asleep. an IV drip attached to her arm.
Five meters away, Scott and Julius sat on opposite ends of a beige couch, neither saying a word.
Behind Scott, Naomi curled up in a single–seater, her gaze unfocused, lost between deep thought and vacant stares.
Overwhelmed by the tension in the room, Zander had already found an excuse to slip away. The events of the night had been nothing short of a spectacle.
