Chapter 54 Front Row

Rumors were already swirling. When Jemima collapsed, Scott had carried her out of the factory, with Naomi running after them. In the corridor, they had run straight into Julius, who had just arrived. The moment he saw his wife in Scott’s arms, he stormed forward and snatched her away.
It had been a scene straight out of a dramatic soap opera.
Julius broke the silence, his voice low and cold. “Jemima’s deliberately provoking me. That’s why she applied for a job at your company. I’ll quit her job for her.”
Scott’s expression remained unreadable. His tone was polite but distant. “I have no interest in her personal affairs,” he said. “If she wants to resign, she can tell me herself.”
The unspoken message was clear. You don’t get to decide for her.
After finishing his sentence, Scott leaned back, closed his eyes, and pretended to sleep.
Julius‘ fury ignited. His sharp gaze locked onto Scott, radiating hostility. He couldn’t shake the memory of earlier–Jemima clinging desperately to Scott’s clothes, refusing to let go.
A deep sense of urgency surged through him. He wanted to take her back to Yhuwell immediately, to hide her away somewhere safe.
Under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t have cared about any so–called rival. But this was Scott. And Julius was determined -he wouldn’t let Jemima get anywhere near him.
At seven in the morning, Jemima stirred awake. Sunlight streamed through the floor–to–ceiling windows, bathing the room in soft, golden light. She turned her head.
“Jemima, you’re awake!”
Jemima’s eyes widened as Julius shot up from the couch and stormed toward her. Maybe the world ending wouldn’t be such a bad thing after all
Of course, Julius had no clue what was running through her mind. He hurried to her bedside and reached out to stroke her head.
Still groggy from sleep, Jemima’s body felt sluggish. She wanted to lodge, but her reflexes weren’t fast enough.
The moment his hand landed on her forehead, discomfort surged through her. That hand had touched Nadine, Just the thought of it made her skin crawl–it was more revolting than if he’d touched something filthy.
“What are you doing here? You already have the divorce agreement,” she said coldly, pushing his hand away.
Her words cut through the air like a blade. There was no warmth, no affection–just icy hostility.
Julius felt the sting of her rejection. But he wasn’t angry. Instead, he bent one knee and knelt beside her bed. “Honey, I know I messed up. I really do. Please, give me a chance to make it right. I swear, I’ll never make the same mistake again, not in this life or the next,” he pleaded.
But he wasn’t angry. Instead, he bent one of his long legs and knelt beside her bed. “Honey, I know I messed up. I truly do. Please give me a chance to make amends. I swear, I won’t make the same mistake again, not in this lifetime or the next,” he pleaded.
His voice was raw with emotion, as if he were on the verge of tears.
But Jemima remained unmoved, her heart frozen solid. “No need to explain. You were just following your instincts. You’ve had such a great time fooling around these past six months–why not keep enjoying yourself? I certainly don’t mind,” she said indifferently.
Julius was stunned, his heart hammering in his chest. He grabbed her hand and pressed a desperate kiss to it. “I’m sorry. It’s all my fault. But it’s not what you think–I never wanted her. The only one I’ve ever loved is you…”
“Enough.” Jemima yanked her hand back. A flood of curses surged in her throat, but she swallowed them down. “Julius, none of this matters anymore. We’re done. I’m getting a divorce, no matter what.”

Jemima stared at him for a long moment before responding. “Fine. If we can’t settle this ourselves, I’ll see you in court.”
“You’re really willing to throw away all the years we spent together? Please, just give me one more chance. I’m begging you!” Julius’s voice cracked as he leaned in to embrace her. “I can’t live without you,”
“What do you think you’re doing? Get your hands oll me! Den wuch me!” Jemima shricked, grabbing a pillow and hurling it
at him.
On the couch, Scott stirred. The blanket draped over him slid to the floor as he sat up.
He rubbed his temples and spoke in a lazy drawl, “Zander, water.”
Zander, who had been pretending to sleep, instantly perked up and rushed to the mini fridge. He grabbed a bottle of water and handed it over.
Neither of them had expected to start their morning by witnessing a full–blown domestic drama.
At Jemima’s bedside, both she and Julius froze mid–action, Jemima’s eyes widened in shock.
Jok, God. Please tell me that voice wasn’t Scott’s. Please!
Julius’s face darkened slightly. But with an outsider present, he couldn’t continue acting so brazenly. He straightened up softened his tone, “You must be hungry. I had someone bring the chicken soup you love. I’ll go get it for
you.”
From groveling in regret to acting like everything was fine–his ability to shift gears was truly remarkable.
Jemima ignored him completely.
Julius turned and left to retrieve the soup.
As soon as he walked away, her gaze landed on Scott, who was lying on the couch. Her face instantly heated with embarrassment.
Her boss had just witnessed every second of her messy marital drama–front row, no less.
