Holden’s face fell.
“Married? To who? You’re my wife, how can
you marry someone else?”
號
TELY
Ignoring Susan, he rushed to me.
“Tell me, what’s going on!”
生
Susan’s eyes burned with jealousy.
She forced a smile, clinging to Holden.
“Holden, this marriage certificate looks fake,
like a prop.”
“Nancy’s scared you’ll leave her, she’s acting
to get your attention.”
This calmed Holden.
He examined me, sneering.
“Right, who else would want vou?”
“Everyone knows you’re my dog, Nancy! Who
else would want a second–hand woman?”
After nine years with Holden,
I was the social pariah.
Even the courthouse staff knew us.
Hearing I was remarrying,
They offered sincere congratulations and
expedited the paperwork.
That’s how I got the certificate before Holden
arrived.
Hearing Holden, a woman behind me tapped
the counter.
“Young man, marriage is serious, nobody
jokes about it.”
“Look carefully, Ms. Shen’s certificate has an
official seal, it’s real!”
“Ms. Shen’s new husband is tall, handsome,
and refined, far better than certain spoiled
brats.”
Holden’s face darkened.
He didn’t use his power, but reached for my
certificate.
“I don’t believe it, nobody dares defy the
Holdens, nobody can steal her from me.” “What’s mine is mine, I don’t care if I lose it,
nobody gets it. I’ll ruin whoever did this!”
My weak body was no match for Holden.
He snatched the certificate.
He opened it, sputtering,
“It can’t be him…”
太
A tall figure appeared behind me.
He held a bouquet of roses, his arm around
my waist.
“Don’t be afraid, I’m here.”
Holden’s face went white.
His incredulous gaze shifted between us.
Susan tugged on Holden’s sleeve.
“Holden, why are you staring at Nancy? Still
have feelings?”
“She can marry whoever she wants, you’re
divorced. Let’s get married, I can’t wait.”
This time, Susan’s sweet voice didn’t soften
Holden.
He pushed Susan aside.
Pain flickered in his eyes.
“Nancy, this is fake, right?”
“I’m sorry, I won’t be reckless again, let’s go
home, I’ll be good.”
Seeing us hand–in–hand, ignoring him,
Holden became frantic, self–deceptive.
“You’re doing this for revenge, a lesson, you
hired an actor.”
“Otherwise, how…how did you marry my
brother?”
