At my wedding, I sang a new song, “Eternal
Love.”
A symbol of our enduring love.
A promise of forever.
Kevin smiled. “Ashley, I’ll always be here, by
your side, forever and always.”
I kissed him.
Applause erupted.
Pulling away, I saw Mr. Johnson and John in
the crowd.
John’s eves were red tears streaming down

I smiled, taking the microphone.
“My dearest older brother is here today to
celebrate with us.”
“I’m so happy, and I wish him and his wife a
lifetime of happiness.”
He sobbed harder.
I took Kevin’s hand, whispering, “I love you,
husband.”
Finally, I was truly happy.
