I shuddered.
I hadn’t seen the whole livestream, but I heard
about how it ended.
The traffickers were doing it for ransom. Her
family could buy her organs back, piece by
piece, to save her.
But first, they did some horrific things to
“prove” they were serious.
Rainey was beaten to a pulp, then dragged in
front of the camera.
Eventually, she miscarried, and her blood
soaked into the white sheets on the floor. But
her family never came.
Finally, the psychos got tired of waiting and
were about to kill her when someone
commented “If you kill her you are no better
than what you hate! Let her live to be an
<
example of what happens to those who go
against the family.”
The traffickers seemed to consider it. Rainey
laid there, dying, until she seemed to whisper
something.
“Are you trying to get revenge for Rainey?”
The words burst out of me. Just like I figured,
Mike froze.
My guess was spot–on.
The next second, a fist slammed into my face.
“Don’t you dare speak her name!”
“Don’t you want to find the real people that did
this?”
I screamed, shielding my head with my arms.
As for my baby, I couldn’t bring myself to care.
