Chapter 4
Sarahi was unable to resist the beating from Madam Moriah Hubbard until a hand lifted her up, and Sir Hubbard Intervened
Sir Hubbard saw Jovan and was also surprised, “How did you come here?”
Jovan simply said, “I heard someone say that Deni is not doing well, so I came to check on her. Don’t worry too much, I have already found a matched heart for Deni, and she will recover spon
Madam Hubbard, who was just crying moments ago, suddenly stopped making a
y sound.
“Where did the matched heart come from? Is Deni really saved?”
Jovan reaffirmed, “I had some other resources, and I personally performed the surgery. Deni definitely came out of the hospital safely.”
Hearing the words “personally take the knife,” Sarahi’s body trembled.
Then, there was an unsurprising bitter laugh.
After Madam Hubbard left, loan felt the scorching temperature in his atms and carried the person to the hospital room.
Then, thoughtfully, prepared a blanket and hot water.
Lying in the hospital bed, Jovan took the thermometer to measure the temperature and frowned when he saw it was 41 degrees. “I had a fever, why didn’t anyone call me?”
Sarah curled up and sarcastically said, “Mr. Polland, so clever and skilled, probably didn’t expect that staying in a hallway below 5 degrees for three hours would make someone sick, right?”
He just didn’t care, that’s all
I didn’t care about her, so I didn’t care about her health condition either.
What he cared about, from beginning to end, was only the heart inside his own body.
Joven paused for a moment, then seemed remorseful and said, “I’m sorry.”
The voice w
was very low, and Sarahi thought it was just an auditory hallucination
Beside the bed, Jovan sat down and held Sarah’s burning hand, whispering, “I’m sorry, I promise you, after this time, I will definitely live with you well.”
“What conditions do you want, I will fulfill them all, I will love you well.”
Sarahi, however, did not look at him and silently withdrew her hand.
The water was left hanging overnight, and Sarahi only improved the next day.
Joven didn’t go back to his workplace hospital, but stayed here and brought a few pills.
The medicine was bitter, Sarahi frowned as she ate it, and Jovan brought a glass of orange juice.
“How long will it take for my illness to get better?”
Jovan replied, “Generally speaking, a common cold can recover in seven days. You have a slightly severe fever, so it may take around ten days.”
“Did that delay me from giving Denisse a heart?”
She said this sentence so casually, as if she was mentioning something insignificant.
Jovan looked at her with a complex expression in his eyes, suddenly feeling like he couldn’t understand her anymore.
He did not answer immediately.
Seralia continued, “1 didu’t get better from the cold, but it didn’t affect me either.
“Anyway, after my heart was dug out, I couldn’t survive, so does it really matter if I caught a cold?”
The words were too cruel, but Sarahi said them with an mimaginable calmness, like an indifferent knife.
For some reason, Jovan felt uncomfortable and insisted, “I will make sure you go on the operating table in good health.”
Did he go up healthy and then come down lifeless?
Sarahi didn’t understand the meming behind his persistence.
Outside the ward, Sir Hubbard entered holding a share transfer agremien.
The lile with a cover was heavily slammed onto her face, and Sir Hubbard’s voice was coll, “As you wished, all of Dent’s shares are now yours.”
HIRA
Hall of it is mine, and halt is Denisse’s
Add up to twenty percent.
They all had a place on the board.
Sarahi was satisfied and signed her name on it.
After everyone had left, I called my lawyer and said, “I want to entrust my estate to you.”
The lawyer and her bestie Aubrie Huff came together.
When Aubrie saw Sarahi lying pale on the bed, looking emaciated, tears immediately welled up in Aubrie’s eyes.
“Son of a bitch, they are a bunch of bastards, how could they treat you like this! I’m going to go and settle the score with them!”
Karahi stopped her.
During the time she was trying to win over Jovan, she didn’t come across many good people, but Aubrie in this lifetime was an exception.
She always stood firmly by Sarahi’s side, no matter what Sarahi went through, she was the first one to lend a helping hand.
Without her, Sarahi probably wouldn’t have made it to today.
Aubrie was also the second person, besides Jovan, who knew about her system.
Now, she confided in Aubrie about her plan to change her target for conquest
“So, you finally got rid of Jovan, the scumbag?”
Sarahi nodded.
Aubrie stood up happily, “That’s great, the system finally did something about Jovan. You should have dumped that jerk earlier and let him suffer!” Sarahi made her lawyer laugh and looked at him, saying, “I want to transfer all of my shares in the Hubbard Group, as well as the company itself, to my daughter Aubrie, and donate some cash to the children in the mountainous areas.
The lawyer, not surprised, listened and then proceeded to ask, “And what about your family?”
“Not a penny left for them.!!
Aubrie’s eyes turned red after listening, “I am just temporarily keeping them for you. When you come back with a new identity, I will give them back to you. You must come back.”
Sarahi nodded and reached out to wipe her tears,
Outside the door, Jovan walked in and said, “What are you coming back for?”
His eyes were very alert.
Sarahu didn’t know how much he had heard, so she quickly explained, “I told Aubrie that once I recovered from my illness, I would travel abroad for a while. She didn’t want to let me go and asked me to come back and bring her some souvenirs.”
Jovan listened without any expression, just a moment of doubt, and then returned to his usual appearance.
“Remember to go for the check–up later.”
Sarah breathed a sigh of relief.
Jovan personally took her for the examination.
Sarahi knew that this examination was to check her heart, to see if it met the requirements for donation.
Coming out of the examination rooms, she happened to run into Denisse.
She sat in a wheelchair, with a slender figure beneath the this hospital gown. Her long hair cascaded down, exuding a sickly pale beauty.
Just sitting there, it made people feel sorry for him.
“Sister, Theard from my brother–in–law that they have found a matched heart for me,” Denisse suddenly spoke up
“Did you also feel happy for me?
Sarahil looked at those black eyes, so bright, so innocent –
There could be so much malice hidden underneatit
Did she really not know anything?
“Happy.”
Sarahi smiled, with a hint of sincerity, “I was happy.”
Not seeing the expected tantrum, Denisse felt a bit dissatisfied. She casually raised her hand and flicked her hair, “Well, that’s great. You’ve always been biased against me before, and I thought my sister didn’t want me to have the surgery.”
On those hands, the women’s ring on the ring finger was very eye–catching
What Jovan had in his hands was a pair.
Sarahi didn’t pretend not to see it, her gaze fixed on it. Denisse quickly took it down when she saw this and said, “I’m sorry, this is a gift my brother–in–law gave me when I returned home, it doesn’t have any other meaning.”
“Originally, I used to wear it on my middle finger, but when I got sick and my hand swelled up, I could only wear it on my ring finger.”
“Sister, don’t blame me.”
