It was the weekend. I kept calling Mark. But he
<
When I called too much, he turned off his
phone.
I went back to my old house.
When I got there, Alex had red eyes. He asked,
“How can you leave dad and me for your work?
How can you be such a heartless mom?”
He pushed me and punched me. Said that he
hated me.
So, I grabbed his hand. “Alex, I don’t love you
either.”
He paused. But I left.
I couldn’t find Mark here.
So, I called his friend’s wife.
Just like I thought.
<
Mark was with his buddies. Probably talking
about me.
I went there with the agreement.
Same place. I stood by the door, like it was
repeating.
But there was one more person.
“Mark, so your wife left you? It’s not a big deal.
You can just divorce her,”
Meng Ran grabbed his drink and threw it on the
ground.
Her eyes were sad. She was trying to not cry.
“Divorce her and marry me, is that so bad?”
Mark got up. Then he looked at Meng Ran.
<
He laughed, “Divorce? Marry you? Ranran, we
said that I would never get a divorce.”
Meng Ran got up.
“But your wife is going to leave you and your
son for her career! Why would you be sad for
such a heartless woman?”
Mark seemed sad. He took a drink and threw it
back.
Then he said, “She might not have any feelings
for me, but I still love her.”
He dropped the bottle and looked at Meng Ran.
He touched her face.
“I wish Sarah loved me as much as you did.”
He pulled her closer and they kissed in front of
everyone.
<
They kissed hard. And the guys were cheering.
Until one of them got a phone call.
He went out the door, and saw me right away.
“Wife… uh, why are you here?”
The room went quiet.
Mark was still kissing.
He pushed away Meng Ran and looked at me,
shocked.
