- 12.
Xu Mei happily greeted him.
“Ahui, where were you? I couldn’t find you
anywhere.”
Xu Mei smiled, her voice soft and gentle,
completely different from when she spoke to
- me.
She reached out to hold Shane’s arm.
I thought after so many years, and since I’m
not human, I should let it go.
But seeing Xu Mei’s intimate gesture, I still
felt disgusted.
I don’t know if Shane did it on purpose, but
the moment Xu Mei reached out, he moved,
and dodged her hand, turning towards
Shane’s parents.
“Dad, Mom.”
Xu Mei’s hand missed, a flash of anger in her
eyes, quickly suppressed.
Suddenly, she looked in my direction, gritting
her teeth, whispering, “Holly, it’s all because of you, you damned ghost, still haunting me
after all these years?”
I froze.
Could Xu Mei see me?
I waved my hand in front of her, thankfully,
she couldn’t see.
Xu Mei took a deep breath, forced a smile,
and turned towards Shane’s parents.
“Ahui…”
Shane turned around and said calmly, “The
guests aren’t all here yet, I’ll go to the
restroom, you stay here with Mom and Dad.”
The words “Mom and Dad” made Xu Mei
smile.
She softly responded, “Okay.”
I didn’t care about Xu Mei chatting with.
Shane’s parents, because I saw Shane holding
his phone and quickly walking towards the
restroom.
He wasn’t going to the restroom, he had
another plan.
Sure enough, Shane went to a corner of the
hallway, took out his phone, and pressed the
power button.
My heart started pounding.
Knowing I couldn’t grab the phone, I could
only clench my fists, staring intently at his
actions.
