This damn girl was something else. Walking to my office next to my dad’s, I opened the door and made my way to my desk. It was a beautiful mid–century, dark mahogany desk with a very elegant carving along each leg. It was in a L–shape that sat in the middle of the room on a rug with a large, almost floor to ceiling. window on the back wall. The walls were a light gray, and the floors were a dark wood. A couch sat on the far wall in its own living room area with a loaded bar, and two chairs sat in front of my desk.
I didn’t understand why I couldn’t get this girl out of my head. She is drop–dead gorgeous, had all the right curves, and a right hook to match, but I didn’t think she was luna material. I needed a girl who was quiet and would stand behind me. I didn’t need anyone trying to overrule me. Maybe I just needed to fuck her and get it out of my system. Thinking of all the women I had been with, she might have been the best looking, but I had a select few I could call when I needed some release. “Take them to the dungeons and I will meet you there,” I said, cutting the mind–link.
Shooting down the rest of the scotch, I unlocked the door and was met with my dad getting ready to knock. We had this policy of knocking as a sign of respect. Even though he was alpha, be respected his pack’s privacy.
“Oh, hey Dad Justin said they caught two rogues around the boarder. I am headed to the dungeons to interrogate them,” I said, as I slid out of my office, locking the door.
“I was about to ask. I got the message as well. Let me know what they say ”
I had proven myself to be a fair but intense interrogator. I just nodded to my dad and walked to them. I liked to interrogate. The knives were my favorite, but I did enjoy brute force, too.
Opening the doors to the dungeon, I was immediately met with the putrid smell of rogues and also blood, sweat, and piss. Fuck, these needed cleaned out, Walking down the corridor, I made my way to the interrogation room. I could hear the screams and cassing of the rogues already, and no one had even touched them yet.
Opening the door, I uw two guys, bare–ass naked, sitting on metal chairs with their arms and legs tied to the chair. We used silver chains to keep them in place, since silver burned us. I could smell the burnt Besh already.
The chairs were made of silver too, so their ass and balls were sizzling and that made me cringe and smile at the same time. Grabbing a wooden chair, I placed it in front of them, Justin was a brute at 6“5“, with a very stalky thick chest of solid muscle, and his arms bulged out to the side since his pecs and arms were too big to lay flat, and his legs were just as thick. He had buzzed blonde hair with dark blue eyes. He was what you would think of when you saw a body builder type. Maverik was standing beside Justin at 6” and what you would consider a male model type. His shaggy brown hair came to his ears but had a curl to it, and he was lean but still all muscle. Ilis hazel eyes could burn a hole right through you.
Both of them stood off to the side with their arms crossed over their chests. They were partly in the shade, so all you could really see was their legs.
“First one to
gets to walk away unharmed,” I said. Obviously, no one was getting out of here alive. Both of these guys were gone. Their eyes were straight black, and they were foaming at the mouth, but could somehow still form sentences. They were days away from completely losing their humanity. Whoever sent them knew they weren’t coming back,
“Fuck off, pretty boy!” the first rogue said. His black hair was matted with dried blood and a few splatters of fresh blood. He was covered head to toe in dirt and
“We don’t know nothin‘ the second one said. He, on the other hand, was completely hairless from head to toe; usually a sign of someone who raped people and didn’t want to leave any trace.
Chapter 25
I extended my claws and ripped his heart out. He watched his own heart beating for a second before I saw him comprehend what happened, and his head slumped to the side. Throwing the heart on the floor, I began cleaning my hand off before turning to the second rogue who was looking at me shocked
“All I know is we were supposed to see if a girl was here before we attacked. I don’t know what they want with her other than she has something they want!” the first rogue said.
“What girl?” I had a feeling I knew who. We didn’t have any trouble until they showed up. I was starting to think she was actually running from someone, but who?
“I don’t fucking know her name. Just a girl with dark hair, green eyes, and has green jewelry.”
“Who wants to know?”
“I don’t know! I just have a number I text, and I get my assignment and I report when I can.”
“Hive
you found the girl?”
“Where is the phone?”
“I won’t fucking tell you
you,” he said, smiling. He knew he was dead, and he told me just enough to piss me off. I kept it simple and snapped his neck.
Turning to Justin and Maverik, I said, “Find that damn phone!” I was greeted with ‘yes sir‘ and they left. Fuck, now I knew they were after Nina. I wondered if my dad would finally tell me everything, or if she even told him everything. I could say with complete confidence, she was hiding something, and I would get it out of her.

Nina POV
Slap! Own! What the fuck? I snapped out of my daze and realized Kelly just slapped me across the face. Rubbing my cheek, I gave her a dirty look
“What was that for? I asked, annoyed,
“Girl, you like went somewhere else. You like zoned out and it was like you weren’t here anymore, Ashley said quietly. I must have scared her. I looked in the rearview mirror and Zach was analyzing me. We couldn’t mind link without people knowing
“I don’t know, I just get a really bad feeling. Like something will happen,” I said. I didn’t want to hide that part of me. I started having “Teelings before now and it was just who I am. I saw a very dark look tross Zach’s face. He knew to take my “feelings‘ seriously. Zach was just plain scary when mad.
Brooke looked for. Something was bothering her. She kept looking at Zach like he was pissing her off, and yet she was concerned. Ashley and Kelly looked scared. They didn’t know me for very long, but we had grown close, and I think they believed me.
“Well, we will just stay close and watch each other’s backs. I guess it is a good thing Liam is with us,” Ashley said. I was learning she was a very positive person, where Kelly and I were more realistic.
The drive to the shopping mall was fairly quick. The conversation turned to what dresses we wanted to get and how much skin was going to be flaunted. Pulling into the parking lot, we all piled out and made our way to the front door.
“I know the perfect place to start shopping.” Ashely said, jumping up and down. She led us to this store that was nothing but dresses. It had everything from prom dresses to cocktail dresses to summer dresses. We all started browsing
“Nina, what’s up? Zach asked me quietly.
“I honestly don’t know. Did you notice all the birds and animals were gone?” I said.
“I did…” Zach trailed off, and he spotted Brooke looking over at us with a frown on her face.
“What is wrong with Brooke?” I asked. I now felt like it was directed towards me
“She thinks we are or have fucked.” Zach said, sighing and running his hand over his face
“you go help her, and I will talk to her girl–to–girl to help,” I said with a small smile on my face
“Thanks, Nina.” Zach said quietly and walked off.

I found a royal blue off–the–shoulder dress and a ruby red strapless dress, then decided that was enough to try for now and made my way to the fitting roo and Ashley already had started trying things on.
I put the blue one on first. It was a one shoulder that hung off to the side and had a sweetheart neckline with satin material. The top was a mesh corset style, so you could see my skin under it and stopped just above my knee. I liked it but it just wasn’t the one. I heard the other doors open so I went ahead and stepped out. The boys had found seats in front of the fitting room, looking incredibly bored. I saw Kelly in a bubblegum pink fitted dress. It had openings around both waist areas and stopped mid–thigh. The top was a simple spaghetti strap that ended in a V–neck to show off her cleavage. Ashley chose a more modest dress that was a halter top and a more relaxed fit that ended to her knees. It has summer flowers on it in shades of purple, blue, and yellow.
“You girls look good!” I said, fanning myself.
“You are looking pretty hot yourself” Kelly said.
“Yeah, I am not a fan of this one. I have one more to try on.”
Brooke emerged from the changing room in a deep purple sundress that had small sparkles throughout it. It was strapless, showing off her mark, and stopped at her knees. Zach growled and said ‘mine quietly before grabbing her and returning to the changing room. We all busted out laughing and I made my way to change.
I slipped the blue one off and put the red one on: Bed had always been my go–to color if black wasn’t available. The red one was a strapless dress that fit me like an extra set of skin. It was a sweetheart neckline and was a stretchy material that hugged my curves all the way down to just below my kiss. It was a little dressier than I intended but I did look hot. I opened the door and stepped out. The girls had changed back and were sitting with the boys. Zach and Brooke had just emerged from the room and made their way to the chairs.
I looked in the mirror and I hadn’t heard anything. I turned to see them with their mouths open.
“Do you not like it?” I asked, suddenly feeling insecure and second–guessing myself.

“Fuck no, that dress was made for you!” Kelly said. Everyone nodded their beads in approval. Liam’s phone started to sing, and he stepped out. I watched him leave, and as I went to turn away, 1 saw a guy outside the store staring at me. It was the same pay I met outside the bathroom from the Redwood pack The creepy guy that doubted my story! I glanced at Zach, and by the time I looked back, he was gone.

Making my way back to the fitting rooms, I changed back into my clothes and sent to check out with everyone. Liam made his way back to us and had a pissed off

“No, magar attack. We need to head home,” Lim said. He was pissed off, and I was a little scared of him.
We all immediately tensed, with Brooke curling into Zach. I frowned at that. Not because I wanted him, but because I couldn’t understand why you wouldn’t learn to defend yourself. We left the mall with the guys on either side of us, and I grabbed Ashley’s hand.
We all piled into the car, and Liam took off driving like a mad man to get back onto pack lands. Once we did get back, he eased off and relaxed Liam got a mind-
that it was all taken care of and there was no immediate threat.
“Well, let’s all go swimming!” Kelly said
“Sounds good! Let’s change and meet down here in five minutes?” Ashely said. We nodded and made our way to our rooms. I realized I didn’t have a swimsuit, but Kelly beat me to it. She grabbed two and was at my door before I could even go looking for her room.

“Thank you! I didn’t get to do all the shopping I needed!” I grabbed the black two piece and went to the bathroom and changed. I grabbed a towel and put a bary t–shirt over my body that landed just below my ass. Kelly had actually brought a bathing suit cover that was more like a dress, and we made our way to the front door. As always, we were the last to arrive!
“Alright, let’s go!” I said. I actually felt excited to go swi ing! I loved the water.
“It is only a 10–minute walk from here, but I grabbed a golf cart anyways!” Ashely said. We all pilled in and made our way to the pond.
Laying our towels down, Kelly and I decided we wanted to just jump right in, and Ashely, Brooke, and Zach decided to ease in. It was a nice 50–degree day, but I couldn’t resist jumping right in. We played for about thirty minutes, swimming and racing before we decided to lay out and get some sun. Zach ended up heading back in to call his parents. Brooke decided to stay out here with us after some convincing.
“Brooke, can I ad you a question?” I said hesitantly.
She was watching Zach walk away after he kissed her forehead. “Yeah, what’s up?”
“Are you okay? Like, are we okay? Did I do something to you that made you seem upset with me for some reason today?” I said, just kind of spilling it out from my mouth. Kelly and Ashley just kept looking between us like we were stupid.
“Well, to be honest, I am concerned with your relationship with Zach, Brooke said, looking me straight in the eyes. I heard Kelly sigh and lay back and Ashley just looked super confused
“I can honestly tell you that we never kissed or had any kind of sexual relationship. I am a virgin, and I am saving that for my mate.”

“Oh my god, I am so sorry. Zach wouldn’t tell me anything, he said it was your story to tell.” Brooke came over and gave me a hug
