Chapter 20
Bang! Bang! Bang! “Get up princess, time to go!” Liam yelled. It took me a minute to remember what all happened yesterday. Stupid fucking guard. There were a lot better ways to wake someone up than hanging on their door, Groaning, I threw the blankets off and slid out of bed, making my way to the bathroom.
“Fuck off.” I mumbled loud enough for him to hear. I knew be heard me by the chuckling from behind the door. I made a point to slam the bathroom door behind me, which didn’t really matter since I forgot all my clothes and towel Sighing, I walked back out, grabbed what I needed, and went to take a scalding hot shower.
After showering, I got dressed in simple blue jeans, a white t–shirt, boots, and left my hair to air day in a side braid. I decided I didn’t need to dress to impress the alpha. I didn’t know what it meant now that Zach formil his mate. As much as it hurt, he would end up staying here with her. Should I leave and travel alone? I could see myself staying here: I did enjoy the quirt the forest brought. Well, 1 point this off as much as I could. Time to go see the stupid alpha and get this over with If he turned out to be a huge ass, I didn’t have to stay. I could always feme.
Walking out of my bedroom, I saw Liam lounging on the couch with a fresh cup of coffee.
“I made a pot. I hope you don’t mind. You don’t seem like a morning persons, so I figured that is what you needed!” Liam said with a smirk as he took a sip. I gave him a look that said fock off, stomped my way to the fridge and pulled out Dr. Pepper, then walked to the front door. I opened it and walked right out without seeing if he was following me. After a second, I heard the door shut and lock, so I knew he got the hint, Making my way to the car, I opened the pop and took a Large drink. Nothing was better than the feeling of Dr. Pepper hitting your soul first thing in the morning.
“When I see a face with that expression, it is usually after I made her come,” Liam said, as he slid into the car.
Coaching from slightly choking on my drink, I climbed into the car. “You think this is my come foce? You must not have made many women come before then!” I stated firmly
“Hmm, well I can say I have had my fair share, but you will be worth it.”
“Worth what? You will never get into my panties.”
“We will see about that,” Liam said quietly, and started driving to the packhouse.
“Tell me about the alpha,” I said after about five minutes
“He is strict but fair. He does not take disrespect and can spot a liar a mile away. Alpha Paul is not someone you want to cross,” Liam said after a minute of thinking. I uw him flinch a little and wondered what happened to make him do that.
I didn’t respond after that. I wasn’t exactly nervous, but I wasn’t ready to tell him my story. I didn’t fully understand my story as it was. Maybe I would just keep it simple and stick to the facts. I saw Liam look at me a few times trying to gauge my reactions, but I wasn’t going anything away. I was trained to keep a straight fare and feelings inside at all times.
Hearing gravel under the tires pulled me out of my thoughts. We were here. The pockhouse was more like a mansion! It was huge! Stones covered from grass to shingles of gray color, black shutters framed the windows with a flower box on the bottom of each. The lawn was nicely manicured. They did little to disrupt the natural forest and did more to blend in
i saw two people standing at the front French doors. One I knew instantly as Alpha Paul and the other was a lady who was tucked in his arms. Must have been his Juna. She was a slim but tall woman with brown hair that shined red when the sun hit it. I walked up to them with Liam by my side.
“Alpha Paul, Luna Autumn, this is Nina,” Liam said professionally.
I gave him a sideways look and smirked a little before straightening my back. “It is a pleasure to meet you both. I am sorry it is under these circumstances, and I would är to extend my gratitude for the help I received last evening,” I said politely.
Alpha Paul’s eyebrows shot up like he was surprised I would address him correctly and say the right things. “What is your blood?” he asked softly, earning him a Took from his mate.
“I was Beta Ben’s daughter from Red Moon pack in Kansas,” I said. It hurt my heart to address my father in past tense. Tasted like chalk on my tongue.
“Was Luna Autumn asked quietly.
“With all due respect, that is a conversation I would prefer to have somewhere more private, if possible.”
Both of them nodded their heads in understanding. “Well, then. Follow me,” Alphia Paul said, and turned and started walking into the house. Walking into a huge foyer, it opened up into a grand staircase that started on opposite sides of the room and met in the middle. There were real hardwood floors stained a dark cherry. The stairs were painted white with black nailing. In the middle of the room hang a very large chandelier of diamonds that paired nicely with the white walls. Large pictures of the past and present alphas hung in a row with their names engraved below them.
Alpha Paul started walking to the right and I quickly started following him. The luna was right behind us, as well as Liam. His office was just off the main entrance, which I found unusual.
Chapter 20
Alpha Paul noticed my surprised look. “I understand more offices are on the second floor, but I rather not bring people who are not my intended guests further inside my house than needed.”
“Makes sense to me,” I said, nodding. And I did.
“Have a seat and tell me why you were attacked last night,” Alpha Paul instructed.

So, in twenty–four hours, I lost my parents, boyfriend, and best friend, so I decided it was time for a change. My friend Zach and I started driving, and this is where we landed. I happened to stumble upon the rogues last night.”
Alpha Paul looked at me with a smile on his face, like he knew I was hiding something. “And that’s
your whole Story?”
“That part I am willing to share, the rest is more personal,” I said slowly, tasting the words as they came out.
“Have you ever heard of The Three Bandits?”
